Jared Allen

First I want to say that this is my personal opinion and its not going to fit everyone's mindset. With that out of the way personally as a Bucs fan I feel our weakest area of our teak that can be addressed in FA ( I can not stress enough FA!) is a pass rushing DE.

Bowers....what can you say man he blew it up at Clemson and we thought we had a steal getting him the second round but a nagging knee injury and honestly just piss pore play when he is healthy really makes me want to call this kid a bust. Then we have Adrian Clayborn drafted in the 1st round out of Iowa. let me say that i'm from Iowa and I watch a lot of Hawkeye games and I was honestly ecstatic when we drafted him he was a man among boys in the big 10. and his first year with the Bucs he has 7.5 sacks and 3 FF that's a pretty damn good start for a rookie. but then missing all of 2012 with a knee injury and then coming back in 2013 just not looking like his old self and as of writing this has only 5 sacks on the season. im not giving up on him i'm really hoping he can bounce back and be the dominant pass rusher i know he can be.

The depth the emergence of William Gholston is great but we have only seen him in a few games and we all know everyone has there few good games *cough Glennon cough* but that is not the whole of what he is I'll wait til next season to fully evaluate him. then there's Te'o-Nesheim there is absolutely no reason this kid should be starting over Bowers or Gholston ill take a bad bowers day over what I have seen as a "good" Te'o-Neshiem game any day.

This leads me to the main focus of the article I believe we should attempt to pick up Jared Allen in FA. he has had 8 double digit sack years (this assuming he gets atleast half a sack this last week he currently sits at 9.5) 7 of those 8 are consecutive (again assuming this week goes well) and just 2 years ago he had 22 sacks! I know there are concerns about his age at the start of next season he will be 32 and his cap hit but I think a good deal would be 10/yearly for 4 years with at least half guaranteed. Tell me what you guys think.
