Schiancognito

My fellow Buc fans, I have no faith in the Glazers to pick a head coach. They brought us Raheem. Was that an upgrade from Gruden? I didn't think so. Rahs first year was an absolute embarrassment. I cringed at every press conference. Who was his choice to lead the team at QB- Byron Leftwich?? Are you kidding me? The Offensive Coordinator was fired a week before the season. I still wonder if it was because he wanted Luke McCown over Leftwich and management didn't. The reason stated for his firing was because there wasn't enough "precision" in his system. Maybe that was true. Who knows. But then midway through the season the Defensive Coordinator was let go. It was as much a circus that year as it is now. Hard to believe, isn't it?

So Rah's choice for the first ever legitimate franchise QB has a really nice second year and everything seems to be coming together. Until the following season. The team goes to London and mysteriously falls apart after. A dismal second half of the 2011 season and Morris looks like the clown we thought he was. So in comes Schiano and his stern demeanor to tighten up the mess left by Recreation Raheem. Order is established. Order of the Loyal Water Buffalo. Greg "Flintstone" Shegottrocksinthehead leads us into a whole new level of embarrassment. So what do we do now?

Well we probably all can agree that a college coach hire is out of the question. A has been coach probably not a good idea either. For a variety of reasons. One in particular, we need a fresh- dare I say it?- "Youngry" coach that has a long, bright future ahead of him. Or her? Maybe Condoleeza Rice could coach us. Ok, I'm kidding. But I wouldn't mind her as GM. But anyway, let's bring in a guy who isn't going to try to force a round peg into a square hole. One that won't rely on his old philosophy he developed over a long career of not quite good enough. Marty Schottenheimerishly. Rather a guy who is currently a coordinator of a top 5 offense or defense. A guy who has an astounding record of success- quick success! Like a Greg Manusky for the Colts, as I stated in a previous article. A guy who has turned a team around in one season. A motivator. An X and O genius. A flexible, adapter. A guy who has studied under a legitmate stud coach, such as Jim Harbaugh, Sean Payton or Mike McCarthy.

So here is the challenge. Here is where we can influence the direction of our team. Let's put our minds and our dollars together and rent a billboard that the Glazers will see everyday. What will we put on OUR billboard you say? Our next head coach! Let's put our nominations together. Come up with a list of 10 outstanding candidates. No college coaches. No has beens. 10 ridiculously talented coordinators who we would be proud to nominate. When we collectively decide on the 10, then we put those candidates before the eyes of the Glazers in bold fashion.

Buc fans, we can't trust these Glazers with this decision. We need to help them. In fact, I imagine they would welcome the help. We are not naming the coach. We are simply giving them very qualified candidates for them to consider, whom they might otherwise have overlooked. Who will step up to the challenge? I will put $100 toward the billboard. You've already heard my nomination. What is yours? Who here wants to take on a leadership role with this? Let's hear from you. If you want to take on collecting the names or acquiring the billboard now is your time to step up. Let's move on this. We are halfway into the season. This is OUR team! Let's do this!
