The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have activated cornerback Danny Gorrer off injured reserve, waiving cornerback Bobby Felder to create roster space, the team announced. Gorrer was signed midway through the 2012 season after stints with the Rams, Saints, Ravens and Seahawks. He did not look great but wasn't a total liability, either.
Gorrer had a stellar offseason and looked great in about 11 snaps in the preseason, notching two passes defensed and an interception before leaving with a groin injury which eventually sidelined him until this week. The Bucs will be happy to get Gorrer back, as both Johnthan Banks and Leonard Johnson have struggled in recent weeks.
Of course, in his first game back from injury Gorrer might noe be up to 100% -- and perhaps his few snaps in the preseason are less of an indication of his talent than his total body of work. Still, he has to better than what Johnson has put on the field lately.
