Greg Schiano noted that Tiquan Underwood would replace Mike Williams, and he did take 59 snaps against the Carolina Panthers, one more than Mike Williams did. No other receiver got significant snaps, though, with Eric Page notching seven and Skye Dawson three. Chris Owusu did not play, but he should be the third receiver if healthy.
Tim Wright is now dominating the snap count at tight end, taking 84% of the snaps with Tom Crabtree getting just 20%. Spencer Larsen has been completely phased out as a tight end and he's a special teams player only now. Wright's actually getting better (or less awful) as a blocker in every game, which is a promising development.
Da'Quan Bowers continues to be a minor part of this defense, only coming onto the field in clear passing situations. He had 23 snaps this week while Daniel Te'o-Nesheim had 40 and Steven Means and William Gholston had 11 and 12 respectively. Having your best pass rusher on the field for just 37% of the snaps is just unconscionable at this point.
