I have the feeling that many of our BucsNation regulars are lining up their "I told you so(s)" for Freeman's performance (or lack thereof) this evening. Many of the comments I've seen, since it was announced that he will be starting on Monday Night Football, have been of the "he's going to stick it to Schiano" variety. But how will he really do?
On the negative side, it seems unreasonable to expect too much from a struggling QB who just joined a struggling team two weeks ago. Freeman is riding a streak of poor form since mid-last season. The Vikings have been playing poorly on both sides of the ball.
On the positive side, Freeman will certainly be as motivated as he's ever been. He's playing a 0-6 team that's finding various creative ways to lose, and has been terrible on Defense. He's got the best running back in the game on his side. He has a tight end to throw to in Rudolph and a deep threat type receiver in Jennings.
It should be very interesting to see if he has any chemistry with this receiving core, like he seemed to naturally have with Mike Williams and VJax.
What do you think Bucs Nation? Will Freeman's put the final nail in Schiano's coffin or will his failure buy the Bucs coach a little bit breathing room?
