Donald Penn talks about Josh Freeman situation

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Donald Penn gives his views about Josh Freeman's situation, and it seems like the team isn't too divided.

Donald Penn went on the radio to talk to Sirius XM NFL yesterday, and of course the Josh Freeman ordeal came up (h/t JoeBucsFan). It sounds like the locker room isn't divided by all this drama, which fits with what we've heard from other reports. While the circus atmosphere is going on, the players appear to still be buying in.

"It's tough thing. First and foremost, Josh is one of my best friends, it's just real tough. I feel bad for Josh being put in this situation, you know. This stuff that came out yesterday and stuff like that, it's really like they're really trying to bring him down. Josh is a great guy. Josh is very humble, he's a very good guy. He's a very good person and he really cares about his teammates and he cares about his team. I know it's killing him, what's going on. Me talking to Josh personally, Josh understands the business part of it and the business side of it. Josh is taking it like a pro, you know."

"Josh is still talking to Mike [Glennon], still trying to help Mike out. That's the kind of guy Josh is, you know. People don't even see that side of Josh. People don't even see that side of him because they just hear the outside stuff. He's still in Mike's ear, trying to help Mike out. He's still in my ear, and all the other teammates' ear and it's not negative at all, it's not nothing negative. Josh has not said one negative thing since all this happened."

You can listen to the full interview below.

The entire interview is worth a listen, really. Penn says some positive things about Mike Glennon as well, but his comments on Josh Freeman are what's really interesting here.
