I like looking up mock drafts at this time of year. Sure, most of them are just speculating and groping around in the dark, but they do give you an idea of how your team is perceived around the league and what players people think could be a good fit. So here's a new one we haven't seen before: a quarterback in the first round, as mocked to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by Shane Hallam of Draft Countdown.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tyler Wilson QB/Arkansas
Surprise? Freeman has a year left, Schiano may want to go the Harbaugh route and start to develop his own guy.
Of course, the Bucs have made it clear that they want to find a quarterback to push Josh Freeman. Competition at every position and all that. And this draft does have a lot of second-tier talent at quarterback: players who may not be ready to step in right away, but who could develop with some time. Tyler Wilson is one of them.
Can the Bucs take this road, do they need to jump on a quarterback in the first round, in later rounds, or do they just need to wait and see with Josh Freeman?
