This game got off to a slow start, but it heated up as time wore on. The New England Patriots' up-tempo, no-huddle offense was too much for the Ravens in the first half, although they did an admirable job of stopping it early on. That led to a 7-3 Ravens lead at the end of the first quarter, but they couldn't prevent consecutive scoring drives by the Patriots in the second quarter. The result was a 13-7 lead for the Patriots going into the half, certainly a surmountable lead.

The second half, then, saw the Ravens pull away, and pull away quickly. The Patriots couldn't get anything done on defense, while the Ravens were incredibly efficient on offense. A 13-10 deficit quickly turned into a 27-13 lead, and that was really all she wrote. The loss of Aqib Talib early in the game really hurt New England, who had seen a marked improvement in their pass defense since the addition of Talib. But the former Buccaneer pulled a hamstring early in the first quarter and was forced to sit out the rest of the game, after blanketing Boldin for the few plays he was able to get in before injuring himself.
Meanwhile, offensive turnovers stopped the Patriots from keeping up their level of scoring in the second half. A Stevan Ridley fumble and a Tom Brady interception ended two possible scoring drives, and the Patriots were shut out in the second half until it was too late. This was a surprisingly dominant effort on the part of the Ravens, who have finally made it to the Super Bowl under John Harbaugh.
The Batlimore Ravens will now face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl -- a Super Bowl that will now be known as the HarBowl.
