The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have their second Pro Bowler for the 2012 season. Vincent Jackson has been invited to the 2013 Pro Bowl after Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson declined to attend due to injury. Jackson led the league in yards per reception and produced one of the best seasons of a Tampa Bay receiver, catching 72 passes for 1,384 yards and 8 touchdowns. Jackson is the first Buccaneer receiver to be named to a Pro Bowl since Keenan McCardell after the 2003 season, and it is Jackson's third Pro Bowl selection.
The Bucs could add another two Pro Bowlers if the San Francisco 49ers win the NFC Championship Game. That would cause RB Frank Gore, S Dashon Goldson and S Donte Whitner to bow out of the Pro Bowl. Bucs running back Doug Martin is the first alternate at his position and would be the third Tampa Bay Pro Bowler. In addition, safety Ronde Barber could be invited, although it is not clear how far down the line of alternates Barber is at safety.
