This feels kind of weird and I dont know how to describe it.

First off all I am proud of the Bucs. The improvement is evident. We still weren't given much of a chance by anybody to win this game. I felt that we did have a great chance to beat the Giants. And if you want to measure how good the talent is on this team and how good we can be this was a great measuring stick. We gave the game away. And this game I will blame the loss on the coaching. We were outcoached and the 4th quarter was evidence of how they failed to make the right adjustments with the lead we had to not only slow down or stop the Giants but as well as failing to make good offensive playcalling. Being too conservative on offense is a problem for the past two games and being too aggressive on defense when you have a two possession lead over the super bowl champs just cant be done. But while I am disappointing in the loss I am still happy with the effort and plays we did make and the talent we have on the team.

We had one of the worst defenses in the leauge last year. And my expectation wasn't high for the defense this year. I just wanted them to stop the run this year. I knew that we were still going to lack a pass rush and we would be able to defend the pass decently even without the pass rush. This year alone the defense has exceeded my expectations. Yes even with our secondary getting torched yesterday. But I think the secondary can still be good.

I expected our offense to carry the load for our team to get us to victory. I expect so much more from them but they are so conservative and it seems like the emphasis is more concerned on not messing up instead of actually trying to score. This is a concern that i am very worried about. And on defense we are seeing the trend of them being on the field too much because the offense was quickly giving the ball back to the other team because they cant sustain a drive in the second half. This needs to be fixed asap.

Now its up to our coaches to get it right. And I am more concerned about them over the players. Schiano has preached about us being a run heavy team and all that but I have failed to see much of it. I love Martin but we cant run him into the ground like we did Caddy. I thought Blount would still be used in the gameplan but that looks like that was a facade. I think Blounts days at Tampa are numbered and will be a huge mistake. Our tight end situation is a joke. Clark cant block but yet we dont use him much in the passing game either so why do we have him? Either pass the ball to the tight ends more or get some TEs that can block very well. Talib is not Revis. And none of our other corners are either so the coaches need to stop playing SO MUCH one on one coverage throughout the game. Also let Amhad Black start at FS. The experiment should be over. This was a concern for me since preseason. Barber is a slot CB and not a FS. But even after all that we are still in good shape. We are 1-1. The Saints look like they are in deep trouble. Falcons look good. We got the Panthers number so far, and we were neck and neck with the Giants. Cowboys did get waxed by Seattle and I think the Cowboys can be beat if we don't get outcoached again. I do think this game will be a little tougher than the Giants game though.

Finally I would like to add that some of the fans need to chill out. One day you love a certain guy (Talib) then the next game you want him cut or traded or you question the decision between drafting Claiborne over Barron. Talib had a bad game. Is he getting burned every game like that? No. So lets just be realistic and consistent. And some of you just aren't consistent with your criticism. I know DraftPhantom gave me his stance about the situation and I respected it. I know I'm labeled the Claiborne hater but I'm just not ready to crown him as this shutdown CB as some have done already. But I will be watching him very closely next week to see what he does. FYI I do like Claiborne.
