Blount versus Martin

It appears that the conversations are heating up again concerning the runningback position. This time it is about Blount versus Martin. Does Martin deserve the starting position over Blount due to his draft status? It appears to be a big topic here at Bucnation. Does Blount deserve the majority of carries because of his veteran status or does Martin deserve the majority of carries because of his draft status?

The argument on Blounts side is that he was under coached, lacked an offseason, can't block, can't catch and is a one trick poney. The argument for Martin is he is a first round talent rated only behind richardson in the draft, but has all the intangibles a good running back should have such as: good speed, vision, the ability to catch the ball, blocking and blitz pickups and good open field moves with lateral ability.

Can these two players coexist in the same backfield? I believe they can and should. When was the last time that we had two capable running backs of this caliber on a Bucs team? Dunn and Alstott? These two may be even better. We have the potential to have a very dynamic and potent rushing attack that could and should be better than Dunn and Alstott. We certainly have the offensive line now to run the ball. With the road graders leading the way, this should become the best rushing offense in Buccaneer history.

So I pose this question to you at Bucsnation, How do you see this panning out and who do you think will become the bell cow at runningback?
