State of the Union

So as we move into April here is what our Bucs should do before the draft.

Pick up some sort of linebacker: I can somewhat understand why they didn't pursue hawthorne or lofton because I hope it was because of their contracts. Now that the main guys have been signed though, its time to make our last move. We need a guy with some sort of experience to mentor and lead our linebackers. While options may be limited it seems like London Fletcher would be a suitable bandaid for our linebacker needs. He would be able to start this year and give our very young, but very talented linebackers like Foster guidance on things like well.... tackling. In addition he would come at dirt cheap due to the fact that he is 37 years old. We resigned Ronde to mentor our defensive backs why not do the same for the linebackers? Other less appealing options include Leroy Hill and Rocky MacIntosh out wide or on the inside Larry Grant from SF or EJ Henderson but Fletcher would be the best option.

Look for possible trades for Kellen Winslow: The market for tight ends is crazy right now because of the Gronk/ Hernadez/ Graham successes. Why not shop our overpaid and slowing tight end to see if someone overpays. I know I would love to have an extra third rounder or fourth rounder to rid ourselves of this guy

In terms of the draft though here is my mock.

1st: Morris Claiborne LSU: He may not be able to read but man can he play football.

2nd: As much as I would like to trade back and pick up a later pick in the second as well as a fourth or fifth I am not in management so we will have to see what happens. At our current position I would pick Doug Martin Boise State, and have our bell cow that Schiano needs.

3rd: Tank Carder TCU: Potential to become starting inside or outside backer for years to come

4th: Have fun Houston

5th: DaJohn Harris USC: We NEEED depth at defensive tackle

6th: Andrew Datko Florida State: Will compete with Trueblood for right tackle spot

7th: Philip Thomas Syracuse: Depth and competition at safety would be nice.

Undrafted Free Agents: Fullback: should be someone left to take over for Lorig who is a defensive end converted into a fullback

Linebacker: Depth and competition again

That about sums it up, tell me what you think!
