2012 NFL Draft: Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade down with Jacksonville Jaguars

Stay connected for news and updates

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded down with the Jacksonville Jaguars. No details on the terms of the deal yet. Expect the Bucs to target Luke Kuechly, Mark Barron or Stephon Gilmore at the seventh overall draft pick. The Bucs passed on selection Morris Claiborne, who could still be available at the seventh overall pick as well.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have received an extra fourth-round pick in the draft, number 101 overall, giving them a draft selection in every round.

The Bucs are likely to look for defensive help. Tackle machine Luke Kuechly would help them in all phases of defense, while cornerbacks Morris Claiborne and Stephon Gilmore could be in consideration as well. Finally, safety Mark Barron should be a strong consideration as safety is a major weak spot, and Barron could excel in man coverage on tight ends like Jimmy Graham. Stay tuned to Bucs Nation for all the news on the draft.
