So I am a BamaOnline.com member, and Chris Walsh, Sr writer with A LOT of connections in college and the NFL is putting together an article on the draft and Bama players involved. He had a very interesting post including quotes I thought was pertinent to our pick. Post is after the jump...
I'm doing more draft prep today and tomorrow and even though you'll probably see this quote in an upcoming story thought you'd all want to see it now. Sports Illustrated's Peter King reported Monday that the Cleveland Browns are split between selecting wide receiver Justin Blackmon and Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill with their No. 4 pick in the NFL draft. Smokescreen? Possibly. We've been reporting for months that the No. 4 spot will probably be the pivotal pick this year and could change everything in the first round (although there are rumblings that the Vikings are seriously considering trading down out of No. 3). Tuesday, Todd McShay was asked about it: "Yes, Blackmon is a very good player, and yes he fits what you want to do offensively, but I don’t think he’s as good at his position … I shouldn’t say it’s not even close, but I think there’s a noticeable difference in terms of when you stack up Blackmon verses the elite, elite receivers in the NFL, versus Trent Richardson and what he can provide compared to what the elite is in the NFL. "I think he’s the best back who’s come out since Adrian Peterson from a talent standpoint and character, football character and being a team guy, being able to catch and block, and everything you look for at that position."What do you guys think??
