I think the BUCS WR group can be pretty good with better coaching schematics and maybe one bonafide big receiver and/or one Speedster. If the BUCS can somehow land Stephen Hill of Georgia Tech, that would cover it. Right now the BUCS have 1) Williams 2) Benn 3) Parker 4) Dezmon Briscoe 5) Stroughter 6) Spurlock.
I don't see Spurlock or Stroughter being a on the roster this upcoming season. This should open the doors for Ed Gant and Raymond Webber. These two players were either on IR or the practice squad this past season. IF these guy got a shot to play, they could cause mismatches in the passing game because of their size. Raymond Webber, at 6'3" 220lbs, is big, fast receiver that be trouble if playing in the slot. Ed Gant, at 6'3" 200lbs, is relatively big as well. I'm not completely sold that the BUCS have to go out pursue multiple WRs in free agency to address this need. The BUCS definitely need a VETERAN to help guide the raw talent that's already on the roster. I'd love to Vincent Jackson and another speedster WR on the roster with the group we already have.
If we can just have our OC draw up plays to properly utilize the talent that's on the roster, I think the BUCS could have a dangerous group on WRs on the field and any time. Thoughts?
