I'm really surprised nobody has been talking about who we are going to start at strong safety this year? We do not really have anybody who is going to scare teams away from throwing that deep bomb over us after we get burned. We do have Tanard at the Free Safety, and I do believe he will have a rebound year, along with many others, with a full offseason in the books.
Do you put all your chips in on Cody Grimm, who only has 14 career games under his belt and not to mention coming off another year ending on the IR; a broken leg (i believe leg). It doesn't appear were going to bring back Sean Jones which doesn't hurt my feelings a bit. Behind that we Asante, Black, and Holland. Pretty much nobodies in my book. Black is way too small and slow, and the others haven't had a lick of playing time except for late season garbage time.
I wish we would have gone out and took a risk on Laron Landry. If he stays healthy, a big IF, then he is an elite safety. It appears we are not going after anybody in FA, plus I have not heard any rumors of us scheduling visits with any rookies or FA's. Due to us not having a 4th round pick at the moment, take the over/under on 4th round taking a safety (if at all), and who?
