If Morris Claiborne is there, I say we grab him hands down, no matter who we get in free agency. Shut down corners are hard to come by in the NFL, and he seems to be one. However, there are a lot of rumors going that the Browns or Rams will draft him, both of who are in front of us. Over the past several years we have seen too many elite players drafted right in front of us. Lions have done it twice to us with Calvin Johnson and Suh, compared to us getting Gaines Adams and Gerald McCoy. If for some reason Claiborne is drafted in front of us, I do not want to get Trent Richardson just because. The RB class is TOO deep to be drafting Richardson with our pick, especially when we have a pretty decent back on the team already. Luke Kuechly is the better prospect anyway. Barring a crazy injury, Kuechly could be a Buc (or at least in the league ) for the next 12 plus seasons. A healthy Richardson, probably 8 if we are lucky. All of the great defensive teams, past and present, have been built around GREAT linebackers. Kuechly seems like he can be GREAT, and is a much bigger need to us than RB is as well. With the new CBA, 5th overall picks are no longer making 50 million dollars guaranteed. It does not matter what position gets drafted anymore, all that matters is if that player can produce. By looking at his stats from college, we all know Kuechly can do just that.
