Free Agent WR's

Stay connected for news and updates

According to ESPN, sources say the Chiefs are going to franchise Dwayne Bowe, and the Patriots are going to franchise Wes Welker. We already know that the Eagles are going to franchise DeSean Jackson.

Leaving Tampa Bay, who are becoming more and more in need of a speed wide receiver (I know Welker isn't renowned for his speed.) Leaving us with two options.

1) Sign Vincent Jackson in free agency.

Tampa isn't an attractive big city, like New York, Chicago or Dallas, but if Vincent Jackson, who grew up in 'Colorado Springs', roughly the same population as Tampa/St. Pete, still likes the smaller city charm, then we could be in luck. But I assume he will want to move to the "big city". There will be many bigger market teams trying to vie for his services, and I don't think Tampa will be high on his list of preferences

2) Draft a WR in the first or second round.

The only way this is happening, is if we draft back into the later second round. Say for Cincinnati's two first rounders (17, 21) and draft: And we'd probably draft Dre Kirkpatrick/Janoris Jenkins and Ashlon Jeffery/Michael Floyd (depending on what they run on their 40, and other pre-draft measurables.

Thanks guys, feedback is always appreciated, and if you can think of any other possible ways we can get a possible number 1 receiver, let me know.
