Under the Radar Free Agents
There are a few guys out there that nobody is talking about, who are very good, productive free agents. Whether it be their age or all the other STAR free agents at their position, nobody is mentioning them. One of them that comes to my mind is Cory Redding, from the Baltimore Ravens. He can play either DT or DE, in our scheme he would be a DT. He is 31 years old and doesn't turn 32 until November. He is a apart of the one of the best defenses in the league, and is a big reason why they are so good. One of my best friends is a Ravens fan, so I happen to see a lot of their games when I am not watching the Bucs. Redding is not a product of the system. He was good with Detroit before he became a Raven, and only helped them out further once he got their. He can play the run and the pass equally as good, and can be a force to reckon with at times. I think a guy like this would be perfect. He is capable of starting or rotating in as a back up. I know he is older, however DT is a position that we need some veteran leadership on. He could come in and start immediately if necessary, and he would also help out McCoy and Price. He should not cost all that much either. What do you guys think.

We need more players like that.
Veteran role players that will at least challenge our young players for playing time. Just giving the young guys the starting spot leads to lazy players.
I wouldn’t mind a big splash player, but I’d rather have 6-8 guys like him that 2-3 star free agents.
Dom has "wood" for youth - he would seem too old for Dom's philosophy

Someone to push Price and McCoy for 1-2 years
Thats all we would need from him.
Richard Seymour was 29 when he was traded
And he’s probably a future Hall of Famer. Cory Redding isn’t.
Redding is good
We would not be signing Redding to be the big name free agents. The older STARS are the ones who usually don’t pan out, I think Redding would be a great pick up for this team.
is adding him means no roy miller I'm game

Well I remember him getting tossed 10 yards wide on run plays

He gets ridden out of plays all the time...
and I hope Miller gets the axe – or somehow step it up A BUNCH.

He has real trouble holding up against double teams
But sometimes he did do that well. And at the end of last year, say the last five games, he really did a good job.
He did good towards the end
Can you honestly be happy with Roy Miller as the number 3 DT on the roster. He has been given ample amount of opportunities and has yet to be consistent. Besides his rookie season he has been a huge disappointment. I wouldn’t mind keeping Miller as the number 4, but we need someone who has a proven track record of being average as best. Maybe Broderick Bunkley from the Broncos possibly?

Our D-line
Is the one area we are decent at. Dont need the upgrades there. We need a whole new secondary and should focus our attention there.
Agreed... but don't forget about sucky LB play
The back 7 all need replaced (maybe T-Jack is OK with a full training camp) and Foster gets a pass because he was a rookie. The others should be afraid – very afraid.

couldnt agree with you more
Everyone from the d-line back shoudl be worried minus Foster and maybe watson (not enough time on field) but otherwise replace them or bring in competition to make eberyone fight for their jobs.
