I have changed my mind..
…and like it IF the Bucs are looking to hire young but unproven hotshot coordinators and give them a structure with ‘Mentors’ already in place. The mentors being Davis and Raye. Probably not my first choice – I’d rather have solid, NFL-ready coordinators – but a decent fallback position given the limitations on coach movement.
The explanation on the radio about the Butch Davis position is
that since he is still getting paid by UNC, he can’t be a coach unless he’s willing to give up that pay. So he can’t be on the field at practice and talk to the players, only in the office can he speak to them. So in other words, he’s the DC, just not doing all the DC duties so he can get paid. It’s another cheap move by the Bucs, they could easily work something out with UNC or just pay Davis, but they’re going to do things this way, which is really odd. OR, Davis is just trying to stick it to UNC, but I think it’s more the Bucs being cheap.

Of course the Bucs will be paying him, but he's gonna get paid by both.

smart move
if you ask me, if your old job had to keep paying you would you get a new job and double dip???
