Having to bear witness to yesterdays win, one thing has become crystal clear - we cannot expect to win many games giving up points like that. Doug Martin went into beast mode, but we cannot expect him to do that every week. We must find a way to slow the bleeding in the secondary. Not saying Stanford Routt is the cure for anything, but he fills a space better than many of our current DB players. He has to be better than Myron Lewis and we really need some help back there.
The 6-1, 195-pound Routt started 30 games for the Raiders, and 8 for Kansas City over the past three seasons. He was signed by KC to replace the departed Chris Carr. The 28-year-old cornerback is playing in his eighth NFL season.
