First, I wanted to wish a very Happy Thanksgiving to those of us in America and all the ships at sea. Since we are all reflecting on what we're thankful for this year, I think I'm going to give you a little bit of what each team in the NFL should be giving thanks for.
I'm also thankful that the football gods have smiled upon me the past three weeks. Last week I posted a 12-2 week, a rare impressive one if I do say so myself.
Of course, in a tryptophan coma that can all change in a blink of a sleepy eye. We have a full slate of games as the bye weeks are finally over.
While I'm still coherent (relatively speaking - you don't think I actually do these sober do you?), let me do the picks.
Last Week: 12-2 86% Upset Special: 0 for 1
Season: 91-68-1 57% Upset Specials: 6-23 21%
Texans 30, Lions 13 - The Cowardly Ones are thankful that none of their players found their way into the clink the night before the game. The Texans are thankful that Andre Johnson has made it through the season without getting banged up.
Titans 23, Jaguars 13 - The Flaming Thumbtacks are thankful this disappointing season is almost over. While not thankful that Blaine Gabbert is injured, the Jags are thankful they have at least a semi-competent QB starting this week.
Colts 30, Bills 23 - The Colts are thankful that they're one of the Luck-iest franchises in the league. The Bills fans are thankful that Ralph Wilson made it through another year and their team isn't off to Toronto or LA.
Bengals 30, Raiders 13 - The Bengals are thankful for a soft schedule to get them back into the playoff chase. The Raiders are thankful Mark Davis won't be firing their head coach every year like his dad did and will give Dennis Allen a chance to build something.
Ravens 27, Chargers 23 - The Ravens are thankful that Joe Flacco has grown into a top flight quarterback. The Chargers are thankful that the Rose Bowl has approved allowing the playing of NFL football for five years while the Los Angeles super mega awesomeplex is built.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
