The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are off to a quick start in Charlotte. They've had two defensive stops, a fumble recovery, a field goal and a touchdown already. The touchdown came on a three-yard pass to Nate Byham, who had been almost exclusively a blocker this year. The Bucs picked him up off the street earlier this year, and he's subsequently turned into Tampa Bay's best blocking tight end by a mile. The Panthers just lost him in coverage on the touchdown.
A quick drive into field goal range then gave the Bucs the opportunity to add a field goal, and Connor Barth didn't disappoint. They lead 10-0 and the Panthers have, quite frankly, looked rather inept.
