This will be my second foray into Charlotte. The first time was for the first 2010 game where we played decent football against what overall was a pretty hapless team. I expect a much tougher contest this Sunday. The Cats are suffering from wounded pride and Cam, if not both pressured and contained will surely exploit our inconsistent and often questionable secondary play.
Our offense is starting to click with Martin and the new Glimmer twins, VJax and Williams, posing multiple threats to get chunks of yardage at a time. Our front seven are looking stout against the run but that weak backfield always gives Cam a target to hit some big ones too. But, I'll be there cheering when they do good and groaning when they don't.
Through family ties I was fortunate to get some great seats but on the Panther side. I'll have to temper my enthusiasm a bit I guess. The first time I was there, it was early in the fourth quarter and it was obvious we were going to win. I turned around to the crowd behind us and confidently told them they should go home because the game was over. About five minutes later, my wife tapped me and said "look back". The entire section behind us for several rows was empty. I told her " I was only kidding."
It's so rare to get to see a Bucs game in person, so Sunday will be a treat, win or lose. But, I think we'll win.
