Call me crazy but I believe the defensive woes aren't solely on Bill Sheridan. Yes he is the defensive coordinator but lets not forget who our HC is. A hard nosed/my way or the highway type of guy. How do us as the casual fan not behind closed doors know that Schiano probably isn't telling Sheridan he wants to blitz and play 3 man rushes. Just watch Schiano's interviews on Buccaneers
.com the guy comes off as a bit of a hard to work with bloat where everything has to go his way. Don;t get me wrong I really like him as a head coach but he has to continue to self re-evaluate his self..
Raheem Morris was horribly bad as a head coach but he never was the type to stick his head too far into EVERY aspect of EVERYTHING. In other words he allowed coaches to do their thing without throwing in his 2 cents every chance he got. After the bye week it seems like he has loosened his grip on Sullivan and the O and look at the results. Im not even sold the miraculous turnaround of the run defense has anything to do with him. I believe it has more to do with Butch Davis, Bill Sheridan, and Bryan Cox.
Schiano needs to over see and allow this great defensive staff to handle their business on their own. Only then will we see a improvement on the backend and pass rush consistency.
