The Tampa Bay Times reported yesterday that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would start Jeremy Trueblood at right guard over Ted Larsen, but Pewter Report is now contradicting that report. According to Pewter Report, Jamon Meredith will get the start.
The fourth-year player was signed earlier this season by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency, having started just four games in his career, all of those starts coming in his rookie season. Meredith has minimal experience, but has at least played guard before in his career - something that can't be said of Trueblood, who has exclusively been a right tackle.
The Bucs have not been satisfied with the play of guard Ted Larsen, who took over the starting right guard job after Davin Joseph's season-ending knee injury. Larsen has been fine in pass protection, but cannot provide much push as a run-blocker. By inserting Meredith the Bucs undoubtedly hope to kickstart their lackluster running game.
