So Dom is expanding his horizons...
going from turning off prospective F/As to now include turning off prospective HCs.
A classic Glazer maneuver.
If they don't spend some serious scratch this year
and use most of their cap, I’m done. I will still watch the games on TV, but I will never give another dollar of my hard earned money to owners who care more about turning a profit than putting a winning product on the field. I understand it’s a business, but this recent farce really rubbed me the wrong way.
"Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example." ~ Mark Twain
I was sure the Glazers would sit on their wallets until '13 when it becomes mandatory to spend to the cap.
But now they’ve got to show some commitment with a new HC coming in. Not to mention coming out in the media and laying it all out there with “we’re going to spend…” statement.
I'll be done too if they're too frugal to spend money again.
I’ll pick another team to be a fan of until the Glazers can she me they actually care. Until then, I wouldn’t care.
I felt that Dominic deserved more of the blame...
for what happened this season than Morris received. IMO Morris was put in a lose lose situation because of decisions made by Dom and the Glazers. I have even more respect for Morris now because of how handled the situation; he never complained he did the best he could with what he had; things just snowballed on him. I really beleive that Morris was set up from the word go; then they wonder why nobody wants to coach here.
There is plenty of blame to throw around...
and Dom can, and did, roll Morris under the bus to save his own hide. Truth is, Dom is equally to blame for not getting us the players we needed to succeed. So much turnover is required – and Dom is probably part of it – but he survives to see another day.
Keeping him on is probably a deterrent to some HC candidates. I would think twice.

I'm not excited for this off season to say the least.
Glazers will prove to be cheap again. I’m almost considering rooting for the Steelers ;)
i am, at least through the playoffs.

Rich Bisaccia is the best choice and will also be the cheapest, something our investor groups can and should get behind

I agree.
Bissachia is the best choice for our new special teams coordinator.

@Warde
Post was hidden for profanity, but in all honesty, I just don’t see the Glazers handing over the reins to a guy that got beat out by Skip Holtz for the USF job. Then again, I didn’t see them handing over the reins to Morris either, so I guess anything’s possible.

Billick
Also, former Ravens coach Brian Billick, who won a Super Bowl with Baltimore, told 620 AM radio host Dan Sileo he is interested in returning to the sideline but has not been contacted by the Bucs.
I’m surprised nobody is even talking to Billick. Not even a sniff. Nobody.
Billick did have an impressive playoff record
and his Minny teams put up a ton of points. I guess the thing most people question about him is why he couldn’t bring any of that offensive output to Baltimore. That team won with defense, so I don’t think he gets much credit for their success. That’s probably not really fair, but I think it’s the common perception.

I agree with a lot of that, but nobody is even talking to the guy
If you were and owner or gm, wouldn’t you at least listen to the guy in an interview? It is weird, and I wonder if there is something wrong with him that isn’t public. Not necessarily anything scandalous, but something.
Dom probably has something to do with this.
Probably would have to relinquish some of his power/authority and he has already shown that he wants complete control of the bucs. Ti’s the reason we are in the mess we are in now.
Dominick should have been fired along with raheem.

Lee, Tony Banks, Trent Dilfer, Elvis Grbac, and Kyle Boller are why he couldn't bring that firepower to Baltimore.
I like Billick and cannot believe the Glazers haven’t given him an interview.
That's the strange thing.
He seems to throw his name out there every offseason, and every offseason the media reports he is a hot name, but he never seems to get hired. Maybe he is asking for too much money, or maybe the consensus amongst league front office personnel is that he isn’t a very good head coach.
"Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example." ~ Mark Twain
Does he throw his name out there?
I always hear his name mentioned but is he actively pursuing these jobs year in and year out?
He may be asking too much but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach, just that he’s only coming back on his terms.
And hopefully, we don’t have to worry about him searching for a QB. Billick is bright, and with his success in Minny, has a track record of turning an offense around. He knew where Baltimore’s bread was buttered—on D—and didn’t try to interfere with that. He can delegate and stay in his lane.
I don’t know if he’s the answer, but for the Glazers to go into complete radio silence after bringing in a guy to satisfy the Rooney rule, and Mike Sherman, it makes you wonder. There are other guys out there. Makes me think they’re just finalizing the language on Sherman’s contract. What happened to due diligence?
I've heard him say he wants to coach pretty much every season
And he usually says ’I’m too expensive for these guys’.
Maybe teams were low-balling him and he reacted in the media.
Either way, that’s not the best thing to put out there.
The only thing I've read about regarding that is the Jags job.
And he said “they’re looking for yound and cheap, and I’m neither.” Sounds like they low-balled him.
Has he said he’s too expensive for other teams or is that what you were talking about Sander?
He was there for eight years
If he couldn’t get a QB he like in there in that time, then that’s on him.
"Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example." ~ Mark Twain
In the beginning I think he was content winning with "game manager" types who would just not lose it for the defense.
Trading up for Kyle Boller was his Waterloo moment I think. The draft is a crapshoot and he rolled snake eyes on that one.
I wouldn't be opposed to Mike Sherman as he long as he only oversees the offense and leaves the defense up to someone else

Maybe "glacier" was Freudian...
for the slow fashion the Glazers grudgingly spend their money.

Not to mention
he knows the value of a good defense and a commitment to the running game. Unlike some people we know who abandon it the second we go down a score.
I agree
And 69her I agree with you as well
