Nothing confirmed...

….but on local radio this morning someone reported that Jeff Fisher will be choosing between the Dolphins and the Rams. So it appears he will not be coming to TB. Take it what its worth.

It ain't over 'till its over...

I may be grasping at straws, but until some team holds a “We just signed Jeff Fisher” press conference – we are all still in the hunt.

I can’t imagine STL being that amazing of a destination…

I agree. I think he would do much better here.

But I think he wants more control. Not sure if he gets that here.

I would still like to see him come in and talk with the Glazers...

as he, to my knowledge, has asked them for nothing as yet. Lots of assumptions. If we don’t even speak to him – I will openly question there desire to win here in TB.

It not like Dom is glued to the furniture or anything.

by Cracker Ball on Jan 5, 2012 10:58 AM EST up reply actions

Dom's job isn't safe, he may not be fired, just reassigned, but if the Bucs want Fisher,

they will sacrifice Dom to get him.

That was the first time I’ve even read that Fisher was the Bucs top choice, I keep hearing Sherman, who I really don’t want at all. If the Bucs want Fisher, I have no doubts they’ll land him. I think I still prefer Billick over Fisher though, but that’s just me.

Raheem was the DREAM that turned into a NIGHTMARE..

It was reported that fisher was Dom's top choice

It was also reported that the Glazers are unimpressed with him. Who knows?

No, words are soft.

It’s the fingers that mess everything up.

lol....

…I am not sure why Dom is getting a pass…but hey, he is getting it. Personally, I think the Mike Mularkey talk is going to heat up soon.

by akbrown15 on Jan 5, 2012 11:00 AM EST up reply actions

per Miami Herald

And the Dolphins are intent on not being outbid financially for Fisher. [Dolphins owner Steve] Ross has the deep pockets necessary to pay what he must to hire Fisher and he apparently does not want to be seen as incapable of landing the most prized coach on the market — at least not as a result of being outbid.

I'm sure there is a cap on what the Fins will spend.

$10 million is a stretch for this guy, that’s Cowher money, he ain’t Cowher though.

Montee Ball looks like he's going back to school

Not good news for those of us who wanted a running back in the 3rd. Even if we weren’t targetting him, that’s one less back available in the rounds before.

true

they have holes everywhere…

We do too, but our weather is nicer and our women are better looking!

At least we have that going for us. :)

I'm not sure we need a "tough" guy coach

I just think we need someone who can run a professional organization and is consistent. ONE of Morris problems with team control was that he allowed so many different personalities to take over the locker room and the inconsistently applied discipline. He may be liked, but I’m not sure he was respected as a leader.
