Better late than never...
I guess, in a small way, I am happy because the poor play on the field forced a HC change. We now may have an actual chance to improve, if Dom goes about it the correct way.

"Subtle hints about free agency"?
I don’t think a rampaging mob outside of One Buc Place is “Subtle”.
Time to shamelessly plug my book and short story!
Bring in DeSean Jackson!!
Or Vincent Jackson!
Cortland Finnegan?

Bring in a corner
Who can start and be a factor, also at least 1lb with the same criteria. Add some speed at wideout I think desean will be happy with the money we can give him

Sander - You should write a story about what are realistic free agent options are.
Love Buccaneers - Hate Glazer
Yes!!! Please, please, PLEASE!!!
OL, LB, CB and safeties for sure and never mind about the kicking game.

Optimism or pessimism?
Our free agency moves are going to be the #1 thing that tips me one way or the other.
You and I think alike here...
the Draft and the F/A signings will determine our fate for 2012. I will bite my tongue and only hope that we have learned a valuable lesson over the last 3 years.

I like hearing Dom saying we're going to play in free agency
I think we need some splash free agents at some critical positions, but I also think it is critical we bring in as much 2nd tier competition as we can.
and it still didn't get the comment body just the subject
I was saying, we need to be thinking not just about splash free agents (although I want those too) but we need to bring in a ton of second tier competition. No more gifting starting spots. Every player on this team should have somebody breathing down their neck for their starting spot.
I think mark has learned
When you think about, this its the first time during his tenure that anyone can say, our team performance would of been better had we been involved in free agency

It's almost like we wasted a year just trying to experiment with the concept of being cheap.
Love Buccaneers - Hate Glazer
Just A year?
We just filled the roster with warm bodies in 2009 – no notable F/As signed. All the planets lined up perfectly, and we rode Josh Freemans magic carpet with him in 2010 and got some false sense of doing things correctly – no notable F/As signed. in 2011, we crash back to earth because of our false success in the previous year. Went into it with essentiallythe same exact team – no notable F/As signed.
This dung heap took 3 years of stupidity to build – not just one. A harsh lesson for Dom and the Glazers. Rah gets pushed in front of the bus, and now we find ourselves here.Let’s hope this is not just lip service and they sign more than just a punter.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 31, 2012 10:03 AM EST up reply actions
We came into 2011
With a d that forced 19 turnovers or more the year before. Add that to better pass rushers, and key guys getting healthy again then you have to like your chances, even though your trying a rookie at mlb.
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 12:14 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
Ah, if we could only play CLE, ARI, SEA and STL on an endless loop...
we might go 10-6 again. Maybe. God bless the 2010 schedule.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 31, 2012 3:22 PM EST up reply actions
Up guys got it wrong
This team won 10 games the year before, call it what you want, but that team did it with hard work, dont give me that easy sechdule crap, mike ditka said there is no such thing as a easy sechdule in the nfl, it is very hard to win in this league, tampa just wanted their young talent to get better. This year we had injuries at key positions I think our defense would of been better had grimm and mccoy been healthy the whole year, add that to a shortened offseason, those are not excuses but they are reasons why we struggled this year. Dom is young and still learning hopefully he learned his lesson
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 10:26 AM EST via Android app reply actions
Can't grade the team on w/l
Even at 10-6 we were still ugly and a lot of those wins were other teams shooting themselves in the foot
by Carlitin1988 on Jan 31, 2012 10:29 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
We had similar injuries THIS past season...
but our schedule thoroughly kicked our *ss. For example, we played teams like DAL and HOU, which both really underachieved last season. Just compare the two schedules, 2010 and 2011. There is no way we could have possibly gone 10-6 in 2010 playing with our 2011 schedule. We simply got it handed to us by teams that were superior to us. We got way too overconfident based on our 2010 finish, and Dom though his trash-digging was actually working – it wasn’t. It took 2011 to prove all of that to be an epic failure.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 31, 2012 10:39 AM EST up reply actions
With the harder schedule
It would be more important to have mccoy and grimm on the field, and it would be important to have free clicking with his wideouts more consistently. I think olson should take a lot of the blame too, I lost faith in him during the indy win, he kept calling some play that had free.checking down to earnest, cause indy was leaving a hole in the middle of the zone defense, I thought that was very dumb, and I’ve never seen that done before
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 11:26 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
After the last 2 yrs...
with both of those cats, we do even know if they’re going to be on the field for a full season, and thats reality.
You can't predict health
Those kinds of things just happen, I’m not sure if grimm will pan out in greg defensive system but I do know if mccoys is healthy he will be on the field causing havoc.
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 2:42 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
Who is faster
Who has the higher vertical, if you did a athletic test on the 2 players the only thing mccoy losses in is strength
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 3:38 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
Combine results
McCoy’s 40 time: 4.96
Ngata’s 40 time: 4.99
McCoy’s Bench Press: 23 Reps
Ngata’s Bench Press: 37 Reps
McCoy’s Vert: 30.5
Ngata’s Vert: 31.5
Spin that anyway that you want, but I’m taking Ngata’s athleticism every day of the week.
Love Buccaneers - Hate Glazer
Thats debatable
Those numbers are close, but I still think mccoy is more athletic, they both posses elite athleticism for a dt. I do know at the combine mccoys vert and forty were both higher then what you posted
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 4:20 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
Do you have a source? Or are you just going off of your gut feeling, like every other argument?
I can’t believe that you would even compare McCoy to the best DT in the game.
Love Buccaneers - Hate Glazer
Would be interested in the 3 cone drill times...
to see how quickly they both move ina limited space. Probably a more telling stat than a 40 yd. dash (which neither ever do).

EASY SCHEDULE! EASY SCHEDULE!
Proven this year to be an absolute fluke!!!!
Not true
Freeman was brilliant that year, we had xfactors all over the field, and we were forcing turnovers, and one of the best teams in the league in the redzone

Look at the bengals in 09
They win their division if I’m not mistaking, then they sucked in 2010, and with a rookie qb and after losing maybe their best defensive player they got their team turned around
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 11:03 AM EST via Android app reply actions
The Bengals also have...
a very good DEF, with a great young QB and WR. What do we have again – besides potential?
by Cracker Ball on Jan 31, 2012 12:04 PM EST up reply actions
Are you taking dalton over free
They have a good young qb not great. And that defense was not so great when they sucked. And come to think of it for everyone who thinks tampa needs to take that corner first, look what happen when the bengals lost a franchise corner they got better.
by keysersoze19 on Jan 31, 2012 1:13 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
I don't think losing Joseph helped them. I think that they had a new confidence that wasn't there in previous years.
And no, I would not take Dalton over Freeman. Yet.
Love Buccaneers - Hate Glazer
Dalton is very limited, and he wasn't that great this season anyway
He was decent, but he’s ultimately a pretty limited QB.
He player pretrty well for a rookie that had no OTAs...
and you can’t argue with his success (that same success that has eluded Josh Freeman to this point). He does have a couple of pretty good WRs to throw to.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 31, 2012 5:29 PM EST up reply actions
I would bet a pay check Dalton/Bengals will struggle next year
they will be in a situation similar to ours
I know your 0-1 betting on here lol
but do you dare to make a wager on the Bengals season next year. I say they win no more than 5 games
i like carr and thomas
If we cannot get carr i would like thomas as long as he has fully recovered from injury.

The FA's we pull will determine our draft picks.
If we get two corners(which is feasible), we will probably go Trent. If we get one corner, then we will probably go Mo. I would love to get two corners and Mo, let then battle it out in camp, then let the loser play the nickel. That could be good for Mo. Either let him grow in the nickel, or let he rises to the challenge and earns a starting spot.

7 O-linemen in the first round
4 of the Tackles , None of them names Martin from Stanford.?..lol
I think I'm done with his mocks
They’re terrible, and he REALLY hates Martin for reasons I can’t fathom.
If we ended up with
Vincent Jackson, LaRon Landry, a LB and Mo Claiborne I would be thrilled!! Not sure if VJ can franchised though?
by TerenceJ11 on Jan 31, 2012 3:05 PM EST via mobile reply actions
free agents
how do people feel about this, since josh johnston wants to move on, drafting a later round qb. replace earnest with someone like micheal bush, young back, that can finish a full season. and to compliment williams and benn, try to get robert meachum, as a deep threat. truly believe NO can’t cover brees, colsten, meachum, and the other free agents. If this is true about, what mark say’s about the free agent market.
So, is being a "non-factor" in free agency...
still technically being a factor?
