Jon Gruden has personal experience with the Glazers
so if him telling Chip Kelly that this organization is a bad one to work for is true, then damn it I hate being a Bucs fan. This organization is such a joke. I must love being a fan of the underdog and a truly hated organization by many.
It does seem like he would probably know...
and their knee-jerk reaction to replace him, even with 3 years left on his contract, wasprobably a warning shot to those candidates considering our team. Gruden likely didn’t have to say anything.

They had a chance to start changing that perception this offseason
but I’m not feeling it. The reports of them messing with coaches severences was not encouraging. If we end up with coaches that make us Rutgers South it won’t help. And then there’s that whole free agency thing. I’m not too optimistic about that either.
I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I’m fresh out of that. Schiano was right, they have a lot of work to do to regain fan trust. I’m still waiting for them to start on that.

I am always suspicious of the Glazers behavior...
and I am not exactly when it started. Maybe when Malcom Glazer kinda back away from the team and left his sons, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dummer, to run the day to day. Either way they have managed to alienate fans, make a mockery of our coaching hire and firmly entrench us in last place of the NFC South.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Walterfootball's sources
Didn’t they claim that their sources were telling them that Chud was our guy? I highly doubt that Gruden would do that, especially when we were paying him $$$ to sit in a broadcasting booth.

Jon Gruden got fired
People who get fired don’t usually have good things to say about their former bosses.
Considering the circumstances of his firing
which you have to admit came out of the blue, do you fault him for his alledged remarks to Kelly? Your an astute observer of this organization. Was Gruden that far off the mark?
I have no idea what, exactly, he said to Kelly, so I can't really comment
I’d be shocked if he had anything positive to say after the way he got fired.
I think Jon did us a favor if the report has any truth to it
I think Schiano is a better fit. We definitely more inspired offense but defense has been our way to the top before. Schiano seems very grounded and the fact he came here for such a small bump in salary says something about his motivations. I am concerned though by the lack of available, experienced NFL coordinator candidates.
Gruden/Chip Kelly
Who cares about Gruden and Chip Kelly. We have our coach now. Lets see what happens this offseason/season.
Why should he care? History does have away of repeating itself
The point is just that Schiano is coming into an organization that doesn’t have the best history in coach support. I ’m talking material support and not rhetorical atta boys. We have taken a gamble here, but so has Schiano in trusting Dominick and the Glazers at their word. Just as he has to put results on the playing field, so do they in equipping him with the tools.
kmayhew, if Gruden is giving guys the idea that Tampa is a toxic place to work, we should care very much.
Remember that Schiano still has an entire staff to build. The Glazers might sell the team next year since they’ll be forced to spend to 99% of the cap, but the damage will be done for the foreseeable future if he can’t get some quality assistants right now.
This is something that I firmly believe in.
If they don’t spend some good bucks in free agency, then I honestly think that they will consider selling the team when they are forced to spend money. Glad I’m not the only one that thinks this.
People overestimate the impact of the spending floor
It’s just 90%, and it will be accounted for as a four-year average. That won’t be an issue.
The glazers say that they want to bring the fans back.
The only way to accomplish this is to spend money in FA. Not stupid money, but a few valuable needed veterans. “show me the money” Glazers….
