No Bucs.

Adrian Clayborn making this team is deserved, but Brian Price? He flashed a little but he wasn't consistent.

Michael Koenen...as holder? Okay then.

I think Price did well
considering he was playing through multiple injuries.
Considering that, he did
But he wasn’t close to being the second-best defensive tackle in the NFC South.
Ain't like the nfc has a bunch of good dts
But don’t discredit the effort price put forth on the field by saying he ain’t the 2nd best dt in the nfc south. There is only 2 dt in the nfc south I would take over price and thats mccoy and sedrick ellis. Name two dts in the nfc south you would take over price
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 8:48 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Corey Peters, Jonathan Babineaux
Sedrick Ellis isn’t close to being the best DT in the NFC South.
Brian Price made a few splash plays, but he wasn’t a factor in run defense, and he was very inconsistent as a pass rusher. He has the potential to be very good, but he wasn’t last year.
I think he played good, he created a lot of penetration in the backfield and he wasnt even 100%
by Carlitin1988 on Jan 25, 2012 9:38 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Price had better numbers than Babineaux
Price and Peters numbers were about the same. Ill still take Price over Peters… Ellis this year really wasnt a factor. Account that Price did play through injury, and one defensive lineman cant stop the run alone. I think its on the money with price. Talent wise he isnt the second best in the NFC but, there are no real threats in the division at that position except ours.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
Ill take price over peters too
by Carlitin1988 on Jan 25, 2012 9:41 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
I think Price has the most potential going forward, yes
I’m just talking about what he actually did on the field last year.
With
Mccoy price and richardson I have some great talented players who I can build around, with those atl dts and the corner you want those are small peices to the puzzle
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 9:44 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Who is going to be a better DT?
McCoy or Price?
I hope they both get healthy next season, and we will hack a heckuva debate on our hands.
by BUCSwillDOMINATE on Jan 25, 2012 9:46 AM EST up reply actions
I think they will both be key guys on our team
But if I had to choose I’m picking mccoy. Coming into the draft.I said he reminded me of jon randle and if he can stay healthy I think he will prove it
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:00 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Price and clayborn
Would of both put up better numbers if mccoy was healthy. Thats what I like about our dline, I know that if mccoy is healthy we will be dangerous and the other guys will get better with time. With the talent we have on the dline and lack of good linebackers I see what ever coach we pick up staying with a 4_3 front. Our dline has the potential to be better then the giants, that is something to be proud about as a bucs fan
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 8:34 AM EST via Android app reply actions
The time has come to turn potential into reality
This line needs to start performing to its potential next year, or we need to stop talking up its potential.
It takes time
Were not screwed if mccoy can’t stay healthy, I would like him too but health is not something you can predict. Jpp was not a probowler his rookie year but look at him now
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:19 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
True... but you only get SO much time
and then you get tossed out with the trash. That is probably why some players don’t begin to bloom until they are with their 2nd team.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 10:23 AM EST up reply actions
This will be McCoy's last chance.
New HC will not be married to this kid, and to me he hasn’t done enough.
"I feel like I'm the best, but you're not going to get me to say that." - Jerry Rice
I think he serves out his five-year contract regardless of who's coaching or not
But it is kind of a do-or-die year. If he can’t stay healthy, again, tough to believe in him.
In retrospect... Eric Berry would have been the better choice
being coached up by Monte Kiffin and all. Could have stepped right in and done some real damage for us in a position that still needs to be addressed. Ugh.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 10:30 AM EST up reply actions
I bet if we HAD originally signed Haynesworth back then...
Berry would have been our choice. Could have been a whole different ballgame by now.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 10:31 AM EST up reply actions
Don't think so
Haynesworth was not a beast his first few years. So give him time I think he will, better then haynesworth
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:47 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Hard to say what Haynesworth would have done coming straight here...
before he soured up in WAS. That conversation is completely speculative.
Eric Berry has proven to be the wrecking ball everybody thought he would be, and McCoy can’t seem to stay on the field, basically like the other “full of potential” DT we have – Brian Price. It’s all so iffy.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 10:51 AM EST up reply actions
Berry and McCoy have played fewer games than McCoy
You can’t bash McCoy for not staying heathy and then praise Berry while Berry has missed more games due to injury.
Berry has proven to be more of an "impact" player...
So I will say that Eric Berry is a lot better player, at his respective position, than Gerald McCoy is. I will also say that I believe our DEF would have been better, to this point, with Berry than McCoy.
I am not bashing McCoy – I am simply praising Berry.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 11:41 AM EST up reply actions
So was matthew stafford
But look at what he did when he stayed healthy, brian cushman had injuries issues too at first but look at him now
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:56 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
I would also prefer Stafford and Cushing over McCoy...
so thank you Keyser.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 11:41 AM EST up reply actions
I'm not comparing the players
I’m comparing the situations, plus I think mccoy is better then Brian, and he has the potential to make a stafford like impact at his position
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 3:34 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
I know... I was messing with you
I know far better than to ever think you would say something negative against the Bucs – even when you need to.

Does anyone know how we can fix our lb core
Going forward I only like mason and watson, plus heyward for special teams. I do know that it would be hard to find out who to pick up at lb without knowing the system we will run
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:59 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
Signing LB Carlos Dansby 2 years ago...
and Stephen Tulloch last year is how you improve your LB core.
Dom was too busy sitting around dreaming up ways to financially reward Quincy Black.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 11:44 AM EST up reply actions
Not a fan of Tulloch
Cannot hold up in pass coverage. That was a major problem for the Lions this year.
Mason Foster can?
At least Stephen Tulloch is a sledgehamer in the run game. We really needed to upgrade the MLB position when Ruud left, and he was not adequately replaced.
See Dom for why.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 12:37 PM EST up reply actions
I think Mason Foster can learn to do that, yes
Tulloch can’t.
I think Mason Foster was fine early in the year when Gerald McCoy was still healthy. He was able to play fast, hard-hitting, downhill football. Then he got injured, McCoy disappeared and it all fell apart.
im not sold on Foster at MLB
i know you going to say hes not fast enough to play on the outside but he cant play MLB.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
i agree.
Foster can hit but hes better suited on the outside. He cant fight off blocks. I can go on and on.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
Let the guy develop first please
Mlb is one of the toughest positions in the league, last year was his first there are going to be mistakes. I can tell you this much he played better when mccoy was there. I think hes a keeper.
Does anyone care on sharing how the bucs should fix our lb core going forward
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 3:37 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
You "let them develop" theory is part of why...
we are where we are – at the bottom of the NFC South. You have to first pick GOOD players that have shown something – and develop them. We are now beginning to see the evidence that Dom is sucky at doing this very thing. Much like he is sucky at finding productive F/As.
Is there anything he isn’t sucky at?
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 4:00 PM EST up reply actions
i have to agree.
what we have been used to is these rookies or low round or undrafted players show flashes and expect them to become starters because of a few games. Then they struggle and then the cycle repeats itself over and over again. I like Foster at LB just not at MLB. I liked Hayes as a cover 2 LB but i dont think he can do to much oustide of that scheme. And Black is just really bad. Maybe as a 3-4 rusher of the edge but not in Tampa. We first have to identify what we is going to be our defensive scheme for this team. And stick with it.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
To answer your question....
Dom is good at signing practice squad players. So he has that going for him…..
He is good at signing them...
or he is good at finding useful ones that stick and can truly contribute on an NFL roster?
Those descriptions are pretty different…
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 6:25 PM EST up reply actions
This is true. But i dont think he needs to start at MLB.
He needs alot of practice. He shouldnt have been thrown out there to learn as he goes. Its going to take him a while to understand exactly how to play linebacker in the NFL, and we didnt have coaches able to show him how to do so.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
That boils down to not finding a replacement...
before Ruud left. We have been squaking about Ruud being weak at the point of attach and a passive tackler – you mean to tell me Dom hasn’t noticed this? They COULD and SHOULD have drasfted Ruuds replacement before this, and allowed the new guy to watch what Ruud can do and how he does it. Ruud just needs to toughen up and be more aggressive and we wouldn’t be having this conversation. He plays scared.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 6:28 PM EST up reply actions
Sometimes
Experience is the only teacher, foster will be a better player because of what he went through this year
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 9:14 PM EST via Android app up reply actions
but do we have the time to wait for him to learn as he goes?
could take two or three seasons and we cant afford that
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
tis tru. thats how its supposed to be.
rookie learns and becomes the replacement. foster played vert tentative late in the season… thinking too much instead of reacting and being aggressive
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
I don't care who they hire.
The Glazers will sell the team once they are forced to spend money. This is my bold prediction.
We sucked on offense
Trent Richardson can change that.
by BUCSwillDOMINATE on Jan 25, 2012 9:45 AM EST up reply actions
Thats why we should draft him
We need somone with his talent on our roster
by keysersoze19 on Jan 25, 2012 10:01 AM EST via Android app up reply actions
WHY!?
Is everyone talking about who is better when the real issue is in Campbell’s article stating the Bucs Brass is trying to slash severance packages of the fired coaches! Its no wonder we dont have a coach now, because no one wants to play for OWNERS WHO ARE CHEAP! I mean, do they not expect coaches to talk with each other? What do the Glazers expect our fired coaches not to tell other coaches how the ownership really is? This is rediculous and the Glazers need to get it fixed because your fan base hates you, and the product (or lack thereof) you put on the field. Especially when a better one could have been bought.
If all of that is true...
then it’s no wonder good coaches are wary to come here. Slashing the severance packages affects every person that comes on board here – eventually. Certainly not the kind of buzz you want floating around.
by Cracker Ball on Jan 25, 2012 10:26 AM EST up reply actions
we traded for winslow. he was the best player on the browns
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
He was a disgruntled and chronically injured tight end
That’s not even remotely close to trading for a highly successful, well-liked high first-round pick.
ehhhhhhhh..... thats debatable
but still the point is it is possible. its not likely but the bucs have the pieces to try and make a serious offer
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
all im saying is its possible.... even if not him the bucs need to try and look at making some trades
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
not true if you see the possiblity of getting over the hump with the talent you have. We have been collecting lost of young talent .
Draft and FA isnt the only way to acquire talent and last i check we traded for a coach and a wr and got to the super bowl.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get over the hump.
ALL ABOARD THE TRENT RICHARDSON TRAIN!!!
Is Brandon Carr a FA?
Hes pretty good. And he was a fifth round pick at CB.
