Bucs Nation Open Thread: Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl
It's been a busy day for Bucs fans, as thorough changes have been made to the Bucs' coaching staff. But there's some football to be played today as well, as the Bowl season finally gets under way properly.
The Rose Bowl will feature the Oregon Ducks facing off against the Wisconsin Badgers. Montee Ball is the most high-profile NFL prospect to play in that bowl. Head over to Mocking the Draft to see who else is worth watching if you're looking for players to enter the draft.
Later on the day, the Fiesta Bowl will see Stanford and Oklahoma State do battle. Andrew Luck will play Brandon Weeden, but a lot of NFL talent will be on display in this bowl game.
Discuss the games, the Bucs and whatever else here.

Oregon and those helmets
Can we get those in Pewter? I’m rooting for Monte Ball too. So as long as it’s a good Rose Bowl I’m content.

Wisconsin is a coached by a bully.
And root for OSU to blitz Stanford to make the BCS seem as big of a farce as it is.
LaMichael James
Potential buc 3rd down back.

It's hard
To dislike the Ducks especially when they’re offense starts clicking. Chip Kelly is a few years from the NFL IMO I think it’d take the right money and a National title to pull him away, his philosophy is simple Fast, Hard, & Execute and the uniforms are just a distraction from the speed

They're both lighting it up
Ball has 122 yards at halftime and James has 77 with a 9.6 avg!

I really like Trent Rochardson
I really do but the Bucs do not possess a top-caliber SEC OL. LMJ or Montee Ball would be just perfect guys that can create their own space and beat guys 1on1 run/catch. Yes TR is good but what’s the chances he shines against that LSU Defense, highly unlikely.

If we could grab RB Montee Ball in Round 2...
I think he would fill the bill as well as Trent Richardson. He seems to be a bulkier guy than LaMichael James, and may be handle to handle the NFL punishment better.
I think we'll be 1 of
A few teams looking to jump one of these guys in the 2nd round. I like LMJ because he’s a high energy type of guy and he’s popped his elbow back in on his own he’s tough. Ball is pro ready but honestly either of these guys would compliment our mix.

I would be ecstatic with either of those two guys.

Late second sounds about right
He might drop to us in the third.

"Andrew Luck will play Brandon Weeden"
This phrasing usually annoys me. Odds are good they’ll never be on the field at the same time.
I say we put him in the slot
As well have him run those slide slants the steelers run out of the bunch. You can do alot with speed

Nice blocking,
even at 2’ nothing James blocks better than Blount.
Very entertaining game.
Hope the late game is as well.

Ball looks great
He could be there in the 3rd. Not likely but possible.

James too. I'd love either of them.
Also DeAnthony Thomas has 77.5ypc. Haha.

Tuinei looks good
If he is coming out maybe a late round receiving TE?
Made some good, tough catches here
Though I’m always wary of spread receivers because they tend to be wide open because of scheme, not necessarily skills.
He’d be a receiver in the NFL at 6’5" 216lbs, not a tight end, but that’s not all that relevant. If he can consistently make contested catches, he could be useful.
Why not make him a slot WR...
his size sounds like he could be a potentially tough match-up for a LB.
I missed Dungy's
Kid while he was in the game

they looked pretty even in the first half
now it looks like oregon is wearing them down
Rahdumb the clown and the not ready for prime time players are the worst team in Buc history, the 1976 squad gets a pass cause they were an expansion team, there is no excuse for this garbage!

That's why the NFL stinks
Sometimes teams need those plays.

Blackmon has some type of inner thigh disease.

He isn't a burner
Has decent speed, but nothing special. Mike Williams, say.
In fact, might call him a more physical version of Mike Williams.
