PrintJim Harbaugh has quickly turned around the San Francisco 49ers, and has them in position to win their first playoff game since 2002 - but they will have to beat the New Orleans Saints to do that.
This will be a clash of two opposite styles. The 49ers have one of the best defenses in the NFL and they have a run-first offense that asks relatively little of its quarterback. The Saints, on the other hand, have built their team around Drew Brees. They have a high-powered offense, one of the best in the league, based on passing the ball and spreading the field. The quarterback is the centerpiece of their team, and he has to be as they lack a good defense.
Offense vs Defense. Pass vs Run. Which style will prevail?

The Saints winning gives the NFCS cred, the Niners winning demonstrates that spanking they gave us earlier this year wasn’t a fluke.

Saints for the most part made that look too easy. I suspect Bress will figure the D out no later than half time.

he has developed TEs very well.
But he can’t develop what isn’t there. Stocker may be a good TE but he won’t be elite. He doesn’t have the athleticism that elite TEs today have.

What a great game it was.
I believed in the saints offense. I also believed in the 49ers D. nice to see that defense is still a factor in todays game. Go D. The real players that play their hearts out for minimal recognition. I hope the rest of the playoffs are so heart filled.
This game is a microcasm of the modern nfl.
If the niners didn’t start airing it out, it was inevitable that they would lose.
The TE is a more important position then RB and WR in the modern game.
