Playoffs Open Thread: Saints-49ers

Stay connected for news and updates

Jim Harbaugh has quickly turned around the San Francisco 49ers, and has them in position to win their first playoff game since 2002 - but they will have to beat the New Orleans Saints to do that.

This will be a clash of two opposite styles. The 49ers have one of the best defenses in the NFL and they have a run-first offense that asks relatively little of its quarterback. The Saints, on the other hand, have built their team around Drew Brees. They have a high-powered offense, one of the best in the league, based on passing the ball and spreading the field. The quarterback is the centerpiece of their team, and he has to be as they lack a good defense.

Offense vs Defense. Pass vs Run. Which style will prevail?
