Overrated/Underrated?
I'm writing a guide for the upcoming season and I had a few questions about the Bucs. I figured the best place to find the answers would be from the fans themselves. Thanks for your input.
Who is the most overrated player on the Bucs?
Most Underrated?
Rookie of the year for the Bucs?
What do you need to address in the 2012 draft?
Did you believe in Raheem Morris's system as head coach, before he was let go?
Mike Williams all but disappeared this year, why do you think this was?
Is Josh Freeman the answer at quarterback?

Good
Most Overrated: i’d go with Quincy Black but he’s not even rated, so Jeff Faine takes it.
Underrated: Michael Benneth.
Rookie of the year: Adrian Clayborn.
Position to address in 2012: CB and LB.
Morris’ scheme: yes i believed but no quality of players to play the scheme especially the back 7 of the defence.
Williams: lets see, lots of stuffs. He couldn’t get separation like he did last year, the Bucs failed to throw it up like last year, no other WR threat to take coverage off him and drops, lots of it.
Josh Freeman: yes he is the answer. Couple of years ago was no fluke. He needs a coordinator who plays to his strength though.
If you aint youngry, get the Buc outta here cos i am a Freeman.
Good job buc drunk
You were right on in your assessment. As far as over rated players, that list is extensive, but the leader is most definetly Quincy Black….

My take
Most Overrated: Ronde Barber, I love the guy to death but he was second in the league with 22 missed tackles. Two years ago he was top 5 in the league with missed tackles as well. Yes the guy lays his body on the line and does make some nice tackles for loss here and there, but for all the praise he gets from announcers and former teammates, he definitely does not deserve it.
Most Underrated: Earnest Graham, When he got injured, our offense completely fell apart. We were not hitting on all cylinders before then, but at least with Graham in there we new we had a reliable second option to Blount and a great pass catcher and blocker.
ROY: Adrian Clayborn, don’t really need to explain to much on this one. Was the only consistent player on the defense all year. Does need to work on his game against the run but that will definitely come.
Draft: CB, LB, Explosiveness on Offense. Ronde could be done and even if he comes back he is no better than a nickle CB with his old age. We have one starting linebacker on this team as far as I’m concerned and that is only because he was a rookie, Mason Foster. We also have a young guy who got more playing time in Dekoda Watson, besides them the rest can be cut if it were up to me. As for explosiveness, I hope we address this in free agency with all the free agent WR this year, but whether it is WR or RB we need some guys who can juke, make moves, and turn on the burners to make some big plays.
Morris Scheme: I believed in it, I believe in any scheme as long as you have the talent to play it. I feel like Raheem was stubborn, we did not have the right players to play man most of the time. We should have played a lot more zone than we did, but Raheem’s stubbornness got the best of him.
Mike Williams: I think the lack of off season hurt Williams the most. Freeman and Winlsow developed a bond which I think hurt this offense as well. Freeman simply forced far too many passes to Winslow, I think like half of his pics came from throwing the ball to Winslow, not acceptable. Also Williams was getting double teamed and could not beat that, and towards the end of the year he could barely beat single team coverages. Freeman also never looked for Williams, I think i can count on one hand the amount of jump balls Freeman threw too Williams all season, last year he would throw 3 or 4 a game. Not sure what happened here but I think Williams can bounce back to form, especially with another dynamic WR in this offense and him being the number 2.
Josh Freeman: Yes I believe in Freeman, however this could be a make or break year, he needs to bounce back. Freeman has far too much talent and I have heard too many people like Jaws and other analyst say so as well. In Freeman I believe.
Freeman most over rated hands down
there's a gleam, men, there's a gleam

If Freeman doesn't show improvement in the 1st 4 games next season....
I sure hope the new HC has what it takes and the talent in place to replace Freeman ….. This should be the season that Freeman proves either he IS or ISN’T the right guy……. Hearing He IS over and over while watching him play so horrible just makes the people who say so look so foolish!

Most overrated k2
Most underrated Penn
Roy a/c
Draft cb//lb
Williams? No off season is an escape goat, I mean defensive backs had no off season as well and this year all kind of passing records were set and we didn’t see a lot of tough defenses

I feel..
Over-rated: Talib and Winslow, especially Winslow
Under-rated: Penn, had a good year w the exception of a few games
ROY: Adriaaaaan!! hands down
Draft: Blackmon, CB/LB in 2nd and 3rd rounds
Morris: I liked Raheem but much like Obama, they’ll both be great w 10-15 years more experience. Both bit off more than they could chew. The Bucs should’ve made him DC for 2 years then made the decision to promote.
Williams: just like Josh, will benefit from having a topflight WR next to him. He’ll be back
Freeman: YES! Josh IS the answer guys. He needs more weapons and more time
Just my take
Who is the most overrated player on the Bucs? K2 (Quincy Black isnt far behind), I think his inability to block really hurt our running game BIGTIME; He’s more of a slow receiver, than a TE.
Most Underrated? Michael Bennett
Rookie of the year for the Bucs? Adrian Clayborn by a Mile
What do you need to address in the 2012 draft? In order of importance, CB, LB, OL, WR, RB
Did you believe in Raheem Morris’s system as head coach, before he was let go? Yes and No, I believe he had some good ideas but, he didnt have the guys to execute what he wanted to do. Example: why was Barber and Biggers continuously asked to play man coverage when it was obvious they couldnt do it. I thought we should have been playing alot more zone. IMO, if we were playing zone (cover 2 in particular) we would have been in better position to make tackles/plays. Also, you almost have to play zone coverage against a guy like Cam Newton
Mike Williams all but disappeared this year, why do you think this was? I think it was a collection of things. With that said, I think the biggest facter was not having an off-season.
Is Josh Freeman the answer at quarterback? Without a doubt. Freeman is the answer; better coaching and a deep threat would open up the offense, which would help him out alot
