Raheem Morris hired as Washington Redskins' Defensive Backs Coach
Per Rick Stroud, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach Raheem Morris was hired as the Washington Redskins' defensive backs coach today. That's a step down for the former head coach, who was also connected to the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator position and the Pittsburgh Steelers, among others.
Raheem Morris was the Bucs' head coach for three seasons before being fired after ten consecutive losses, many of which were blowout losses. Morris went 17-31 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and never made it to the playoffs. Despite lackluster results as the head coach in Tampa, Morris has plenty of time to work his way back into an eventual head coaching job as he's just 35 years old.
In Washington he'll work under head coach Mike Shanahan and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett. He will also be reunited with general manager Bruce Allen, who was the Bucs' general manager when Raheem Morris was an assistant in Tampa.
Eventually Raheem Morris will probably get another shot as a head coach. For now, he'll have to work his way back up the coaching ladder.

Good luck to you, Raheem
Let’s hope you’ve learned a thing or two by the time another team gives you the reigns for the entire franchise. The good news? If you do well at your new job, it shouldn’t be too long.
With the 5th pick of the 2012 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select....
This will give him the chance to hone his skills...
at what he supposedly does best – coach DBs. He can learn much from Jim Haslett.

He and DeAngelo Hall should get along splendidly

Agreed +1
Raheem, love your charisma, energy and passion. Defintely can tell that you’re passionate about football. Please learn a little bit from Shanny on how to be more of a disciplinarian.
You’re lucky to get to see London Fletcher on a full time basis. Keep D Hall motivated and it won’t tale long.
You’re a real talent, just need a lil more seasoning. 10-6 really happened, and thanks for that awesome season!

He should have tested the waters in college football.
He would have been a good defensive coordinator. I’m sure he could have recruited really well too.
hopefully ill see him in dc
and ill wish him success. the skins will still stink

Good luck RM.
The skins usually keep a lot of talent in their secondary. That should make him look good.
Probably the best move for him.
Also helps the Bucs since we won’t owe him his full 2012 salary now.
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.
Congrats Rah
Maybe this is what he needs to boost his coaching skills up.
