I think Tampa Bay should pick up deep ball threat like T.O.
I think Tampa Bay should pick up a deep threat like Terrell Owens or Randy Moss, maybe signing them to a 1-year contract. Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are still the best active NFL deep threats in the game . Quick, tall, win almost every jump ball situation, and have very sticky fingers. With speed, amazing ball skills, height and springs on their feet, they physically dominate defensive backs and change the tide of games with 40+ yard touchdowns.

sometimes we need a crazy poorly thought-out post for the regular gang of misfit pirates to snark on
helps keep us relatively sane.
Time to shamelessly plug my book and short story!
Yes, let's pick up really really old guys
One of whome is rehabbing his knee, and the other looked horrible last year. Great idea!

it can't get any worse
than the crap we been holding on to for years like Clayton, Stovall,Spurlock and Stroughter. All second rate receivers. Heck! Benn can’t stay healthy ! We keep holding on to these BUMS!!!!! And none of them are deep threats. Name one?
We love to hang on to crap...
that way our drafts look more successful.

I realize you're trolling this subthread, but this is just awful

Wow.
A. Stovall was productive on special teams for years, Spurlock is valuable as a return man and Stroughter showed his return potential last week ON TOP of being our best slot receiver. They aren’t bums. Nor are they hobos or tramps.
B. Benn can’t stay healthy? Dude, he tore his ACL. Once. A one time thing that he’s just returned from last week. It’s not like he’s pulling a Joey Galloway or an Antonio Bryant. Then again, those are probably two guys you’d like us to go ahead and resign again, right?
C. Deep threats? What is it you’re looking for? Top-end speed from a guy that only runs vertical routes? Is your real name Al Davis? Not every player is Randy Moss or DeSean Jackson. And that. Is. Okay…
Am I going MAD, or did the word "think" escape your lips?

Also, Benn is relatively young- he can bounce back from the injury with good rehab.
T.O is 35+, his body is just aged.

Mike Williams is not a deep threat?
Benn’s in his second year. Complain about the staying healthy bit when it’s 4 years.

Larry Fitzgerald is a deep threat- He doesn't have the greatest speed ever.
Deep threat DOES NOT MEAN SPEED!

Clamoring for TO while claiming that Benn 'can't stay healthy makes no sense
Benn played in more games than TO did last year, while also not tearing his ACL this offseason
Man
That Benn, in his 2nd year and you are already labeling him a bum. Give Benn some time and I bet he will do just fine.

I didn't vote
Write in for not signing anyone. I do feel we need to shore up the OL and safety position and should have in free agency.
I vote this
Our secondary needs help. We should have been more aggressive in the CB free agency market this off-season. The O-line is okay but I still have concerns about Trueblood and with the lack of depth for the OTs.
Time to shamelessly plug my book and short story!
Not to jump in on your thread but you guys sound exactly like the Vikes this year
Poor O line and craptastic secondary. Great slot guy but other than that mediocre receivers. Should be an interesting game this week am looking forward to it.
I'm like the Dali Lama of kicking ass
That's not true at all- sorry.

Our line is mediocre, which is not poor at all
Dont know too much bout the vikings but our WR had stellar rookie years (see mike williams) and our secondary is pretty decent

*Note to self- Do not go on facebook and search the idiocy known as the Tampa bay Buccaneers page*

I don't know why it is that way. I never post there...

Time to shamelessly plug my book and short story!
You want to bring on an aging WR like TO who has a history of bad-mouthing his QBs and disrupting locker rooms?
Yeah. Good luck with that. We got a hard enough time with our pot-smoking secondary…

DeSean Jackson is a FA at the end of the season
Go Get him Glazers, open the wallet for this guy bc he is a game changer.
As a die hard Buc fan, they better take a swipe at DeSean Jackson, and make him apart of the “plan”, or else I hope they never sell another lousy ticket bc the ownership is obviously not about winning.
Jackson on the oppo side of Mike Williams would be NASTY!!!

Oh man that would be insane but I doubt the glazers sign him

As of now, I don't see the Bucs as being huge fans of the FA system
Which is sad, because if done right (like getting FAs like Brad Johnson and Simeon Rice and Keenen McCardell) we were able to finish building a Super Bowl caliber team alongside the drafted core guys of Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, Barber, Alstott and Gramatica.
Time to shamelessly plug my book and short story!
Jackson would be the missing link
And he’s only getting paid 600 k for this year why Vick is getting 16 million.
I am going to be utterly ticked off if we don’t take a Deimos at this guy. He would fit right into the plan. He’s going to be good for the next 6-8 years atleast with all the new rules to avoid wide receiver inj’s.
Go bucs! I know we are frugal, but I truly believe that if he were on our team last Sunday we’d be 1-0. Pay this man, he could be the piece that make the offense click.

If freeman can have the option to throw to d jackson and mike will for the next 6 to 8 then that would probly be a couple superbowls, I really believe that
Plus benn maybe out the slot, k2.. That offense could probably put up 30 points up against anybody., Then again how would mike feel about being the # 2 wr and quite honestly I just dont think well pay him what he wants or someone will outbid us
by Carlitin1988 on Sep 16, 2011 3:21 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
insane
Benn and williams are doing a fine job at these positions. I think if the Bucs would really lose ticket sales if they picked up Moss or T.O. These 2 players are the worst thing that could happen to the Bucs. They are both Big Headed players do you see Williams or Benn running there mouths like T.O. and Moss? NO Willams and Benn will evolve into Deep Threats just takes time. Briscoe is looking good as well GO Bucs Shake Them haters off and continue with that swagger all season long. Like Coach Raheem Morris said stats are for losers.
