Daily Bucs Links 8/5/11 - Wide Receivers look good in practice, extending Josh Freeman?
Buccaneers Insider - 1040 ESPN Tampa
Craig Smith talked to Donald Penn and Anthony Gaitor for this story. Unsurprisingly, Penn praises Adrian Clayborn. More surprisingly, he's also very complementary of Ted Larsen, who has really attacked the weight room this offseason.

Is @incarceratedbob a complete fraud? | NFL Draft Monsters
The answer: apparently, yes. This makes the report that the Bucs made an offer to Johnathan Joseph a lot less convincing. My mistake for trusting this guy based on a few days of activity.

I still think it's likely Goodell waits for the legal process to play out before punishing Talib.

These arguments are interesting, but it's impossible to judge who won without taking into account the money, and there's no real way to say who won on that count.

I thought so too
But I still haven’t gotten this entirely career. I’m waiting for the full CBA to be out there somewhere so I can read the actual text of the rule.
Nice of that guy to mention Mike Williams in his players to watch
but that fantasy guru list of attributes for WRs seems to be a bunch of entirely subjective ratings. For instance, Lee Evans is far from a great receiver, but he is definitely one of the fastest men in the NFL, yet only rates an 8 on speed.
LOL at that guy outing incarcerated Bob. That seemed like it was a little personal for the writer.

Greg Cosell isn't just 'that guy'
He’s the producer and creator of the NFL Matchup show and has been watching film (all-22 film) for 20 years. If there’s anyone who you can trust in his evaluation of tape, it’s Cosell.
Also, in the actual text it’s noted that this isn’t necessarily a ranking of the best receivers, but simply a list of attributes of each receiver.
Well, my opinion of his list of attributes is that it isn't very reliable on some points.
His release off line ratings are very questionable in my opinion. Larry Fitzgerald is the only guy in the NFL that rates a 10 in hands? Anquan Boldin doesn’t rate a 10 in physicality but Calvin Johnson does?

Cosell is one of the few guys whose anaysis I'll trust blindly
He watches a ridiculous amount of tape, is always careful and measured about stating something, never says something if he hasn’t watched the tape.
Word. Some of those ratings just seem to be blatant favortism and not objective rating
but different strokes for different folks.

Will Mike Williams catch more than 11 TD's this year?
I bet he will, and he may even be a Pro Bowler.

I don't think Lee Evans is quite as good as he once was.
It’s always tough to evaluate guys current abilities vs their reputations as they start to decline.
Yeah
He’s not even their #1 option with Stevie Johnson there.

I know, but speed is his entire game. I suppose he may have trailed off over the past few seasons

My excitment cannot be contained
I am so happy for the team we have Briscoe is coming along to go with Williams, Benn, and Stroughter, We have some real competition at MLB the o line is coming together finally able to get Joseph and Trueblood in the mix, its just a good day to be a Buccaneers fan!
What was Larsen's weight last year? I thought he was really like 295 last year.
I focus on money my hands touch
If that right there don’t add up
I gotta let you know your math sucks
You don’t ever talk to a calculator
You don’t get caught with an ounce of paper
Every convo is about a favour
He was listed at 305 on the roster and weighed in at 304 at the combine
But who knows? Players’ weight fluctuates throughout a season so it’s impossible to say, really
