Josh Johnson
Freeman is good, but WOW! How fast is JJ? It looked liked the Chief's were junior varsity... together with those a dropped passes including a TD pass, I thought JJ looked great on Friday. He has come a long way! I like watching him play... The Bucs are going to have to pay him a ton of cash to stay next year when he is a free agent to keep him... It seems like there are a lot of not so great 1st stringers that other teams have in place... Houston, Seattle, Miami, Oakland, SF... Good luck JJ.

I would like to see Johnson in MIA
I’m not saying he would take MIA to the superbowl or anything but with his skill set it would be fun to watch him with Bush and Marshall would be a fast paced Offense ( I’m assuming that if he were a dolphin he would take Henne’s job in a week)
also you forgot about Schaub in Houston
I know Johnson is from Oakland and woud love to play for the Raiders but I don’t see him unseating Jason Campbell for starter there
Might be worth trading JJ soon if he continues to look good
He’s going to walk after this year anyway, might be worth getting some value out of him now. I’d have serious concerns about backup QB if we did trade him though, so there’s also a good argument to hold on to him. Either way though he’s gone after this year, so we’re going to have to face the backup QB issue sooner or later.
Agreed
I would rather have him play out the season with us and walk then trade him now for an extra 6th or 7th round pick more value in having him stay for abit longer

That's how I feel now too.
Unless we could get a 4th for him (doubtful), I think we may as well stick with him as our primary backup this season.
A couple more good preseason games
And some terrible performances elsewhere (Seattle? Miami?) and that might change.
Houston's set with Schaub.
MIA and SF appear to be in the market for a QB but probably don’t want to trade away a pick to get one. Seattle appears to be rolling the dice with T-Jack/CBJ and Oakland seems happy with Campbell for now. I doubt we’d get anything more than a 6th for JJ which IMO, isn’t worth it.
Sorry to put this here but I see this is the most recent post
I need one of you guys for a league I put together. I tried putting up a fanpost but it said I put up too many too soon. Go here for info http://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2011/8/15/2365072/fantasy-football-idea
My email is in my profile so contact me there and let me know your from Bucs Nation and am interested. You can invite a co-manager that I would prefer be from here as well.

I predict that we trade JJ
B4 the start of the Season, even if he just cont. to do what he did in the first game because someone’s QB is bound to get hurt; Also if we get anything more than a 3rd i’d be happy
Agreed
Nobody would trade that for JJ. Baltimore just gave up a 4th Rounder for Lee Evans. He a quality STARTER in this league. JJ is a decent backup at best.

If anyone takes him next year, it will be Miami...
They are looking for any reason to be rid of Chad Henne it seems. They do run spread under Sparano and that would be the system that he could thrive under.
On the other hand, maybe he’ll just join his cousin, Marshawn Lynch, in Seattle.
He sure looked great taking those sacks and playing against third stringers.
He still panics under pressure, I would be happy with a 7th round pick for him.
I'm not negative, I'm just telling you how it is.
There will be no trade
JJ will be the backup for the Bucs this year, and will find a new team with a chance to start next year. But, don’t be discouraged, we won’t get “nothing” for him if he walks. In the 2013 draft we’ll get a compensatory pick that will probably be equal to anything we’d get in trade for him, maybe more. If the best we could get is a 5th through 7th, I’m sure we’ll get something like that as a compensatory pick. If he happens to earn a starting gig somewhere and does pretty well, we could end up with a 3rd round pick, which is more than we probably would have gotten in trade.
really i had no idea it could work out like that
theres so many rules and twists now with FA that you have to have a law degree to understand the NFL

Just saying...
There is not a back-up that is better… Maybe Vince Young, but given the reps in practice and in games I think JJ would quickly outshine him as well. JJ has had to scrap for all of his playing time… When he started in 2009 he was a plug until Freeman was ready after the bye week… No spring or fall reps with the team and seriously had nobody playing around him. they were down by three touchdowns by the second quarter and defenses got to tee up playing against him. My guess is that if JJ got the reps and prep time with the 1st stringers he would be a very effective and lethal starting QB in the league. He has gotta be the fastest QB in the league, seems to be very articulate and smart, and has a solid arm. JJ is going to make some money next year. Good for him!
