Did we forget about him?
With the new free agency rules and the lockout in effect we have worried about who the Buccaneers are going to sign. Our most sought after free agent for the fans was Nnamdi Asomugha because of Aqib Talib possibly not playing for us this season due to his legal issues. There is someone in our secondary whom many people have not talked about at all. Tanard Jackson, our starting free safety.
Tanard Jackson is coming back to us this year after being suspended for all of last season due to a violation of the NFL's substance abuse. Tanard Jackson was on his way of becoming a star safety before he got into trouble with the league. With Tanard Jackson back, will we have a better pass defense? With Jackson back we will most definitely have a better run defense since Tanard has always been a good run stopper when it comes to a safety.
Many people do not like Tanard Jackson and believe we should let him go so he isn't a "cancer" or because many believe he will do the same thing again. I do not think this at all. #36 was missed last season, though we had great performances from rookie Cody Grimm and special teams expert Corey Lynch. Tanard might not be the most ball hawk of a safety, but his hit power reminds many of us of a young Jermaine Phillips. Jackson reportedly watched every home game for the Buccaneers in a suite. He has not been on the field since our second game of the 2010-2011 season.
Jackson is allowed to come back to the team on September 22, 2011. He will have to work hard to get his starting job back, but if he does win it back we may see a Tanard Jackson playing with a chip on his shoulder out to prove he is meant to be the starting free safety of this team and a future star in the league still.

Jackson won't be cut if he comes back
But it’s not clear if he will even come back, because he will only be eligible for reinstatement. That does not mean he will be reinstated.
T-Jack has paid his dues...
and hopefully Dom/Morris will give him another shot. I would, and I am mean.

22nd of sept is my wife's b-day
That means I’ll be pissed drunk and buck wild.. Tjack playing with a chip??!!
Nah the real motto
Nasty pirate zombie.. Arrgg!
Jackson could make our secondary even better.
Considering it was 8th in the league, thats huge. Grimm is a special type of player tho. He isn’t as gifted as other safeties, but his tackling and instinct is remarkable. Grimm would be a much better fit at SS and if Tanard comes back, I expect him to retain his FS spot and for Grimm to battle Jones for the SS role. Personally, I’d love a Jackson/Grimm duo in our secondary.
agreed
having Tanard back is huge given his run stopping skills and hard hitting capability.
That , and the fact that he would have to play harder to retain his starting job would be a plus.

We were 7th.
I know.. grasping at straws, but we were ranked 7th in passing defense.
Our rushing D had nothing to do with that I'm sure.
I'm not negative, I'm just telling you how it is.
Also
Talib won’t be suspended this year since the league will wait till he is tried on this matter and the trial is not till March. We have to worry about next year but this year should be in the clear.
Also where did you get that figure ?

he might be suspended.
Goodell has full reign over the personal conduct policy. he might suspend him just because of the legal actions that are being taken…. hopefully he doesnt.
