Bucs' Minicamp Notes
With the Bucs' minicamp underway at IMG Performance Institute in Bradenton, reports have been flooding in about the events there. Pewter Report has been keeping their Twitter account up to date, Stephen Holder is making notes on his Twitter account, JoeBucsFan is updating their site and the Tampa Tribune is updating its Twitter page and its blog. If you want to get up to the minute updates, follow those guys, otherwise you can keep reading for the most important things to take away from this minicamp.
- Some 40-50 players are attending.
- Gerald McCoy is showing his leadership skills, leading the defensive line drills and teaching younger players.
- For the Offensive Line, Davin Joseph is the one leading drills, and he's incredible shape. The same thing goes for Jeremy Trueblood.
- McCoy has also re-shaped his body, becoming bigger in his upper body but leaner around his midsection. Earlier reports had said that McCoy was working on becoming faster and on his upper body strength, and this looks like the result.
- Aqib Talib is training, Tanard Jackson is on the roster to participate.
- Most free agents showed up, but Cadillac Williams and Barrett Ruud are not present for now.
- Legarrette Blount is also absent.
- Having recovered from injuries, Gerald McCoy and Cody Grimm are participating in drills and look 100%. Arrelious Benn is also participating, but does not look full speed.
- Kareem Huggins and Brian Price are present but not participating in drills.
- Rookies Mason Foster and Adrian Clayborn are participating, dispite earlier reports that rookies would attend the symposium instead. Seems these two value the team work more, which should give them a headstart going into the season. Both look to be in 'incredible shape'.

Blount
Any idea where Blount is? Is he attending?
Good to hear Foster made it down
and that Huggins and Price are taking it easy still. Hope Blount makes it. All the recent incidents kind of makes me anxious that he’s not.
Anyone know how long Huggy is going to be down?

Clayborn is 94, Kyle Moore's former number.
Haven’t heard anything about Bowers.
I wonder how Kyle Moore feels about that...
nah, I don’t really. Probably a little awkward for him though. Ha

Bowers was 93 at Clemson...
but that number is taken. REALLY taken (McCoy).

Wouldn't surprise me to see him take 90
Gaines Adams’ old Bucs number. Bowers took 93 in college, also Adams’ old number for Clemson. The two were good friends.
If he takes that number...
He is shouldering a lot of pressure that might have come off of him for being drafted in the second round. I like it though as it is a great way for him to honor his friend and give him a little more motivation.
Clayborn's the only one with a number
He got it during that brief span of time when the lockout was lifted. Every other draftee has not had any contact with the Bucs because of the lockout
Ah... that makes sense.
I still gotta wait until the Bowers number is official. How embarrassing would that be?
