2011 Draft Party: is this a possibility this year?
Is there an opportunity to call together the fans here on Bucs Nation to a sports bar to watch the Thursday evening NFL draft on Apr. 28th this year?
Last year I had made a suggestion for a get-together... which kinda fell apart either because 1) no one wanted to go to where it was hosting or 2) it was a Thursday evening that people couldn't find time to attend...
Is it still not a good idea to get a group of Bucs fans together for a chance to sit at a sports bar and collectively freak out when Tampa Bay takes a punter in the first round?
If it's at all possible, I suggest trying for a group to meet at Selmon's in Tampa, the one near the airport. It's a popular restaurant so it could be busy that night, but it may be in a better locale for people to gather compared to last's year suggestion I had for the Hooters off Roosevelt in North St. Pete.
Is this good to discuss? Gotta make it quick as it's two weeks away...

I would suggest if you are interested or have an opinion on it to voice it here instead of just voting.
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.
But I like polls. It draws people to posts... ;-)
The 2010 Bucs: Considering their two-minute offense works wonders... Why can't EVERY offensive drive be run like that during the other 58 minutes of the damn game?!
I meant in addition to the poll.

I'd be there if I was anywhere close to Tampa
Sadly, I will probably watch the draft with a bunch of Cowboys fans.
hahaha me too b1uph! I've been in Dallas for over 6 years now....
I live off 75 and Knox, where are you? I’m down to watch it if you don’t have any plans
I'm down around Austin
If I didn’t already have plans with a bunch of Romo-sexuals I might take you up on that.

You guys can hook up with Cracker, he's out there too.
I'm not negative, I'm just telling you how it is.
I would actually be game for that...
Austin is but an hour away.

Up in Dallas
I always get stuck with boys fans over here too. There’s a cool bar in Uptown that always has other fans around, though. I was at Alberstons the day we beat the Rams and was wearing my Bucs hat and another Bucs fan ran up and gave me a high 5!!
Made my day for the 2nd time (1st was Josh hitting caddy for the W)

Love it…

it would be sweet to watch the draft with other Buc fans, but a four hour drive there and back probably won’t happen. Sweet idea though, I’ll repost if something changes.
I'm game, Selmon's is good, but I'm up for anywhere. I'll probably have to go from work.

we need to call Selmon's to block some seating areas right?

that would be advised...
they’ll probably be quite busy. might have better luck at hooters or a random sports bar…
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
tried Hooters last time. No one showed.
why that happened is beyond me. The food’s not that bad, guys…

That Hooters relocated btw.
Are the Bucs doing anything at the stadium this year?
I'm not negative, I'm just telling you how it is.
the Bucs usually do. but it's crowded, noisy, and few places to set a laptop and chill.
I went the years we drafted Talib and Adams. I had more fun going to sports bars.
Right now I think Selmon’s is a better option. Just need to start a headcount on who’s gonna show.

Selmons has a Private Dining sign-up policy
…lessee… paperwork… paperwork… Deposit for the area is $250.
O.O
Let’s just go 1/2 hr early to the one near the airport and hope to God there’s empty seats, how’s that?!

Draft starts at 8 pm right?
Without the Private Dining sign-up – too expensive – I’m thinking of showing up about 45-30 minutes earlier and seeing about regular reservations or hopefully getting a good-sized table. How many people plan on making it to Selmons in Tampa this Thursday night?
It’s the one at:
4302 W Boy Scout Blvd
South Tampa, FL 33607
(between the Airport and the Ray Jay Stadium
Google Map it…

I posted a new fanpost for this. I'll be showing up by 7 pm to see about getting a good-sized table
and go from there. hope to see a few ppl.
