Buccaneers - Falcons Injury Report: Trueblood Out, Defensive Line Still Injured

TAMPA, FL - SEPTEMBER 25: Josh Freeman #5 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers talks to teammates before playing against the Atlanta Falcons at Raymond James Stadium on September 25, 2011 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)

As has been the case all year, the Bucs' defensive line is heavily injured. DE Michael Bennett, DT Albert Haynesworth and DT Brian Price are all listed as Questionable. Of those players, only In addition, DE Adrian Clayborn and DT Roy Miller are listed as Probable. Once again the Bucs will face a run-heavy team without having their already weakened defensive line at full strength. That will be so much fun.

In addition, Jeremy Trueblood has been ruled out with a concussion. James Lee will get the start in his place per Stephen Holder, while Demar Dotson will see some playing time as well. That's a little odd as James Lee has been inactive for most of the season, while Dotson has been the extra lineman/blocking tight end.

For the Falcons, Ray Edwards and Brent Grimes are the most significant injured players. Both are listed as Questionable, and Edwards did not participate in practice. Missing either of those players would hurt the Falcons defense, though Edwards has not added much as a pass rusher this season. Brent Grimes is their best cornerback, however, and without him the Falcons could struggle to stop the Bucs' wide receivers. Except that hasn't proven to be very hard recently.

I think, as a form of punishment...

that all the injured players should be forced to sit up in the stands, and watch the entire ATL game, just to see how horrifying their play looks from a fans perspective. Make sure to deduct the cost of the game tickets, snacks and pain-numbing beer from them too for full effect.

This may initially sound cruel – but how else are they gonna learn?

So many who don't want Trueblood to play finally get their wish.

I wonder how long it will take to wish he was back in. :D

Raheem was the DREAM that turned into a NIGHTMARE..
