It is time for Ronde to go
I’m sad it has to be on a year like this, but he’s had a hall of fame career here. He is one of our all time greats.
Yugly.
In the first article last paragraph its scary what barber says
About a lot of the players just not playing or caring about winning. Maybe derrick ward was right. I think ronde should retire but This team is an insult to him. Having played on one of the best defenses ever to this years team. The whole organization needs a check. Starting from the top, Glazers need to care more.

It is amazing how quickly this team unraveled at the first sign of difficulty
There are obviously some major locker room problems right now. There need to be major changes this offseason in a lot of areas.
Yugly.
It started when Kiffen quit and Gruden was shown the door.
Raheem was the DREAM that turned into a NIGHTMARE..
Kiffin had us in the top pass defense for many years
And then for his son to pull him and lead him through some drudgening decisions, it was all for nothing…

I don't look at it like a threat.
I think Ronde is just voicing his support of a friend. He’s also qualifying his remarks at every turn. He knows he might decide to come back so he won’t come out and definitively say his future is inextricably linked to Raheem’s.
As for his comments about the players’ attitudes, wow. That is scary. I wish Ronde was more of a vocal guy in the locker room and not just in the media after the season lays in shambles. He’s the lone veteran prescence on the team, older than the head coach even but he’s admitted that he’s a “lead by example type” and not a vocal guy. Now I don’t know if it would’ve helped (especially with guys like Talib on the team who are as likely to swing on you as listen to you) but when he calls the team out in the media it gives you a glimpse of what Grandpa Ronde’s opinion of his teammates’ effort is. Wish he would call these guys out to their face in front of the rest of the team.
Say what you want
Ronde still shows up big in games. Plays like the safety against the Bears or the lightning fast sack on Orton late in the 4th that was negated by Talib’s personal foul. Ronde was just trying to validate Morris as the coach for this team. Honestly this season can’t be pinned on Morris’ shoulders. At times we’ve seen clear instances when we were getting out-coached, just as many times we’ve seen players take away prime opportunities of success during the game with poor play or bad penalties at good times. Coaches can coach until they’re eyes bleed but if the players fail to learn and implement the system the team will fail. Who’s to say if Morris does come back pending stipulations such as getting a new DC or OC. I’m sure that’d be easier to find then
changing the entire regime. We’ve seen what Morris can do with the proper time a coach needs to cultivate a team, COY candidate and two W’s short of the playoffs. So honestly would it really be all that bad to have Morris as a coach next year? Or do we go back to square 1

Are you insane?
“you cant pin this season on raheem” what? The players do have blame here, but it is up to the coach to get these guys to play, PERIOD!!!! The lack of discipline, effort, control etc; are all on the coach. There is no one who is more to blame than coach morriss.

Everything you said in your post reflects on raheem...
You basically laid out the blue print of why a coach should get fired…. Sorry, no offense…

So self discipline isn't predicated on
The individual I can see if we are talkin pop warner or high school but these are grown men here. He’s a coach not a baby sitter big fella. Im just saying that this entire season wasn’t his fault the sane way 2010 wasn’t just his success. Morris let the fan base down the same way his team let him down, not saying he doesn’t share the blame but there was alot of games we played and lost where players crapper they’re pants.

A lot of the things you mentioned fall squarely on the coaches shoulders.
Are the players accountable too? Yes!!! But the ultimate responsibility rests squarely on the coach. I believe it would be a huge mistake to retain raheem and his cronies!!

so you're saying the guy on the sideline
Is more responsible for wins/losses than the guys bangin it out between the chalk? Our biggest problem this year is the failure to get into the paint and even when we’ve been in striking distance the Players still can’t get it done. It’s hard to coach against turnovers, mental lapses’, and the worst OC ever.

Actually the DC is way worse than the OC, unfortunately the DC is also the head coach
Rahdumb the clown and the not ready for prime time players are the worst team in Buc history, the 1976 squad gets a pass cause they were an expansion team, there is no excuse for this garbage!

Yep, that is my belief, that coaching UP players
and the way they play on the field go hand in hand…

I love Barber to death but I think it's time to turn the page...
Wether Rah stays or not..If I were GM I would hope Barber just retires so I dont have to cut him. Then, I would take the best 2 CB’s available with our 1st two picks this April. I’ would love to have Morris Claiborn and maybe a guy like Chase Minnifield with those 2 picks; (we have excellent QB’s and WR’s in our division so I think we need Smart Veritile CB’s on our roster that can tackle, line up and play man, or zone coverage). Cut Talib and Myron Lewis. Keep Biggers, Mack, and Gaitor; these 3 are not starters but, they’re young scrappy players that can battle it out for CB positions 3 thru 5. Come 3rd round I’d seriously consider a RB; hopefully guy’s like Chris Polk or Lamichel James are still available at that time. I’d add depth/competion rounds 5 thru 7. And lastley, add upgrades at WR, OL, LB, S via free agency. If I was GM that’s what I would do.
I think it is time to move on from Ronde too but
I wouldn’t cut him if he wants to stay. I just wouldn’t make any decisions based on how that impacts his choice.
Yugly.
If ronde wants to stay, I am okay with that.
His role as starter should be reduced or move him to the FS spot.

i think we should let him call his shots
our future hall of fame corner should be shown a little respect and appreciation. so if he wants to come back i dont see why he cant have a reduced role and secondly hes not playing at such a bad level (compared to the secondary) as where if we had a great defense id be more skeptical of him coming back
by Carlitin1988 on Dec 29, 2011 3:08 PM EST up reply actions
Agreed, thats why I think he would be a good fit at FS.

Just think of
how bad this season would of been without him. He is still making plays, and if he wants to keep playing Im all for having him back, Mainly for a leadership role
yes i agree he has played better than expected i think specially for a 36 year old corner
i really wish he was more vocal because he is that veteran that we talk so much about that we need to lead these young guys.
by Carlitin1988 on Dec 29, 2011 5:24 PM EST up reply actions
Agreed...
In the event we do add a CB or two via the draft Ronde would be nice to have around to “bridge-the-gap” so to say. I just dont want to see him starting anymore on the outside; nickleback only.
he can't play the outside no more
But on the inside, he does pretty good with reaction times and knowing the game. But if its him and Rah then the door is behind you
