All the problems this season have somewhat masked
the great season Davin Joseph is having. I think he’s had the best performance on the line this year.
Yugly.
I agree on Penn
I don’t think Penn is having as good a year as Joseph, but he is doing his job well. I have nothing but some nitpicking complaints with him.
Trueblood though? No, not on board with that. I just watch him miss pass block after pass block. He’s been good in the run game but way too many pressures on Freeman are coming from his man.
Yugly.
Joseph has played well so far,
He and penn are our best lineman. Trueblood needs to be replaced next year.

Trueblood is still as horrible as he used to be

They knew all well when they signed him
They were getting solid run blocking and suspect pass blocking.
Should have selected OSU Mike Adams...
in the supplemental draft with a 6th rounder. He will be a fairly high pick in next years draft.

That would've been a very smart move
We could’ve even used a 7th rounder on him.
Fire. Greg. Olson. NOW.

Trueblood standards = ?
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.
Laying the bar right on the ground
is not a standard – its a speedbump

I was just thinking
If Haynesworth would’ve signed with us, we probably draft Eric Berry instead of McCoy. Then we have a safety tandem of Berry and Jackson…whoa…
by flash_kiley on Nov 11, 2011 8:39 AM EST via mobile reply actions
You sounded about as irritated as i do when people say McCoy is a bust.
And no one knows if Berry would’ve gotten hurt if we drafted him.
by flash_kiley on Nov 11, 2011 9:42 AM EST via mobile up reply actions
With the way GMC played this year, there is no reason why anyone should call him a bust.
He looked like a top 3 pick, even if he didn’t have top 3 numbers. Even Suh only has 3 sacks this year. Sure you can say he’s a bust cause he never plays, but those aren’t career ending injuries. His explosiveness will be exactly the same next year, but with both of his biceps stronger than they were before.

GMC may work out for us, but Eric Berry is a beast already...
Don’t like the injury bug so far.
by Cracker Ball on Nov 11, 2011 10:30 AM EST up reply actions
Chiefs fans were shouting 'bust' for the first half of last year about Berry
For some stupid reason.
I was fantasizing about...
The Pats releasing Wilfork and Suh falling to us. Before he was resigned Wilfork was talking about moving to FL and specifically mentioned the Bucs. I also thought the Lions were sort of obligated to commit to protecting their investment in Stafford. Obviously the Lions made the right choice, but that couldn’t have been an easy call.
Wilfork and Suh? That would be another Williams Wall for 5 years or so.
by Brooklyn Buc on Nov 11, 2011 3:02 PM EST up reply actions
Sorry, sometimes i think back to what could have been
Let’s just say we take Demarcus Ware instead of Cadillac in 05. Then next year we probably would’ve taken AP. And if the Lions didn’t draft only receivers at the time, we would have Megaton instead of the late Gaines Adams. And if We didn’t reach on Dexter Jackson, the next year we would have drafted Mike Wallace.
Hindsight sucks! :)

How about Aaron Rodgers instead of Caddy? We'd have the best QB in the game right now.
S.N. That isn’t a diss on Free, but how could you pass up Rodgers?
Oderint dum metuant
John Gruden would have tore Rodgers confidence apart just like Simms
Josh Freeman will be better than Matt Ryan, Cam Newton cant compete with FreeFive. Not so sure about Drew Brees.
Absolutely, Gruden was not quarterback friendly and Rodgers confidence would have suffered.

In Grudens defense...
a) He didn’t want Chris Simms. That was Bruce Allens pick.
b) Chris Simms sucks as a QB
by Cracker Ball on Nov 11, 2011 12:11 PM EST up reply actions
Gruden didnt want the guys he wanted.
You had to be named Brad Johnson and or be 35+ years old.
Obviously Aaron Rodgers doesnt fit either of those.
Josh Freeman will be better than Matt Ryan, Cam Newton cant compete with FreeFive. Not so sure about Drew Brees.
