Tampa Bay Buccaneers - San Francisco 49ers Injury Report: Bucs linebacking corps depleted, Luke Stocker out
Despite playing last week against the Indianapolis Colts, Quincy Black is still listed on the injury report this week. In fact, he hasn't practiced at all this week and is listed as Questionable on the injury report. To make matters worse, linebacker Zach Diles is listed as Doubtful and has also missed all practices this week. It seems unlikely that either player will play on Sunday, which would mean Dekoda Watson returning to the starting lineup. It would also mean that the Bucs could only suit up one backup linebacker: Adam Hayward, although the fact that the veteran can play all three linebacker positions eases the pain a little.
In addition, TE Luke Stocker is listed as definitely not playing, along with WR Sammie Stroughter, T James Lee and S Devin Holland. Lee and Stroughter have missed the past couple of games with injury, while Stocker was injured late in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. Devin Holland is a special teamer only at this point.
There's also some good news, though. Kellen Winslow is not listed on the injury report for the first time in three weeks, while TE Zack Pianalto is listed as Probable after missing the Monday Night game. The Buccaneers need the depth Pianalto provides now that Stocker is out of the game, which will hurt the team's running game. RB Earnest Graham, DE Tim Crowder and DE Michael Bennett and CB Aqib Talib were also listed as Probable. All four were able to fully participate in Friday's practice, which usually means they are ready to suit up on Sunday.
For the 49ers, WR Braylon Edwards will not be playing on Sunday with a knee injury. Edwards has missed the last two games as well. In addition, nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga is listed as Doubtful with an infection and did not practice all week, which likely means he is out as well. CB Shawntae Spencer is Questionable to play with a toe injury. If the 49ers were to miss him, Preston Parker could have a big day.

Next man up
I am really excited to see Anthony gaitor suit up. He could really develop into something special for the Bucs.

A whole litany of injuries would have to happen for Gaitor to actually get on the field on regular downs
He’ll be the fourth safety and seventh(!) cornerback.
He'd probably still have a good day if he was playing against him. Brown = Spencer
If the 49ers were to miss [Spencer], Preston Parker could have a big day.

Shouldn't be too bad of a LB situation,
considering how much Nickel we have played lately. Watson and Black were only out there for a combined 28 plays(a few which were at the same time for our “Big” packages and some of which were ST). So, ST might suffer a bit but I still expect Watson and Hayward to be out there on every punt and kick return.
On any given Sunday...
Preston Parker could have a ‘good’ or great game no matter who is trying to cover him. That said, we could also see Ronde Barber develope his ‘Linebacker’ skills. And maybe even Tim Crowder could do drops into coverage on tight ends. And tell me this…with growth and improvement each week…how great can the D-line get if they keep getting better? Perhaps instead of them getting 4 sacks a game, will that stat go up? The tackles for loss stat go up?
You know ‘Stats are for losers’ has a nice ring to it, but who wants to not have great sack stats?
I’m all for them…I can’t see anyone on the sidelines complaining when we sack a quarterback.
