As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed practice squad running back Mossis Madu to the active roster, per Stephen Holder. Madu should add some depth to the Bucs' running back stable which currently consists of a slightly gimpy Legarrette Blount and Kregg Lumpkin.
Madu spent the preseason with the Bucs and looked like a somewhat shifty but undersized running back. The Oklahoma product rushed for 978 yards on 219 carries in his college career and has some experience catching the ball out of the backfield. The Bucs still have an extra roster spot, although that could quickly be filled if longsnapper Andrew Economos is activated off the PUP-list.
Raheem Morris also provided some injury updates: everyone should be healthy after the bye week. Everyone except Earnest Graham, of course, as the veteran running back was placed on IR. Legarrette Blount should be fully recovered from his MCL injury, while Tanard Jackson, Jeff Faine, Jeremy Zuttah, Gerald McCoy and Sammie Stroughter are the other players still recovering from injury.
