Allen Bradford claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks
To make room for safety Tanard Jackson, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived running back Allen Bradford yesterday. They hoped to re-sign him to their practice squad today, but have missed out on that opportunity as the Seattle Seahawks have claimed the USC product per Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times.
Bradford was a sixth-round pick for the Bucs and the third 2011 draft pick to be waived this season, after S Ahmad Black and TE Daniel Hardy were waived after the preseason. Ahmad Black is currently on the Bucs' practice squad.
With Allen Bradford gone, the Bucs have just two healthy running backs on the roster, as Legarrette Blount is injured and will almost certainly miss Sunday's game. Earnest Graham is expected to carry the load against the New Orleans Saints, while Kregg Lumpkin will be the backup. The Bucs do still have RB Mossis Madu on the practice squad, and it was suggested that he could be called up for Sunday's game. It seems that he will have to wait a while longer.

R.I.P. Allen Bradford
"Well, if you guessin' it's me, you guessed correctly
I just stay with a stallion, you would swear I was an equestrian
I hit her with that pipe, call that Nancy Kerrigan
Stay on the greenest greens, call us vegetarians
You be on that minor league, but we smoke professionally"
Eh
He wasn’t all that- I was never too thrilled about that pick. But it’s definitely a head-scratcher. Is there the possibility that they’re setting up for a FA acquisition? Seems doubtful, considering the history. Who would make sense that might be a viable trade?

Sooooooo, Guesses on the pass to run ratio on Sunday?
I’m thinking 9:2

At least
2:1, probably more like 5:2. I hope I’m wrong about this week, but damned if this doesn’t feel a bit like I’ve got dental surgery scheduled for Sunday. Prove me wrong, guys- please.

Oh well, he isn't all that
There has to be somebody out there for the pouching, I like Texans backs or the Ravens.
Dom: go get a Texan or raven practice squad RB.

Texans RBs don't fit the power run scheme the Bucs have
Texans run a pure zone scheme, which requires one-cut running backs. Bucs run power, which requires different skills.
Picks 5 through 7 not looking great

Anthony Gaitor is still here
Ahmad Black being cut can’t really be helped given that he missed basically all of preseason with an injury.
How did Gaitor do last week?
With what ever play time he got
He took out Josh Morgan for the year
That’s about all I noticed of him. 49ers were mostly running out the clock at that point
Running back is a priority in next years draft
Plus cornerback, tackle and linebacker….

Well need to grab some of that talent in the free agent market
As we have too many holes to fill in one draft

I'd like to think that too
…but I’ve got zero faith in current management’s free agency strategy. Yeah, Koenen was a good signing, but we overpaid- and we didn’t address depth elsewhere on the roster.

I'd add a deep threat WR to that wish list
…though a pass-catching speed back is arguably a higher priority. I’m already anticipating wincing every time Sproles makes a play on Sunday, thinking to myself “if only….”
I’d also argue that guard’s a higher priority position of need on O-line than tackle. Though you can easily make the argument that both Zuttah and Trueblood should be upgraded.

So who would you waive to bring in a backup?
Dom has his hands full if that’s the case. Better to wait and see how who we have pans out.
Elbert Mack?
I’m still astonished he made the roster again.

I think #20
That guy might know a guy who played RB. Who was looking to get a job-
50/50 sarcasm/serious.
Earnest Who I know Graham come on this guy may be a stand up guy and all off the field but come on. I can see it now how many more fumbles are going to be given up on the goal line when they are about to seal a win??? Not starter material with there schedule they have this year it’s going to be a long and ugly season.
Hes had six fumbles in eight seasons.
Give the man a break.
