Indianapolis Colts - Tampa Bay Buccaneers Injury Report: Kellen Winslow, Quincy Black Questionable

TAMPA, FL - SEPTEMBER 25: Kellen Winslow #82 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looks on during a game against the Atlanta Falcons at Raymond James Stadium on September 25, 2011 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Mike Ehrmann/Getty Images)

Quincy Black is slowly returning from his injury, but it's not clear whether he will be cleared to go against the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night. He is listed as questionable on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers injury report, but he did participate in practice for the first time in two weeks. If he can't go, Dekoda Watson will start at Sam Linebacker, as he did last week. If Black is ready to go he should return to the starting lineup.

Kellen Winslow was listed as Questionable for the second week in a row, something that doesn't usually happens. More concerning is that the tight end again missed two days of practice as opposed to his more usual one day of absence. To manage his chronic knee injury Winslow's practice schedule is limited, but he is usually not listed on the injury report. He did play last week despite a listing of Questionable.

LB Geno Hayes suffered a concussion against the Atlanta Falcons but has been cleared to play against the Indianapolis Colts and should return to the starting lineup.

Star-divide

In addition, T James Lee and WR Sammie Stroughter have already been ruled out. Josj Johnson was listed as probable with an ankle injury. Tight End Zack Pianalto was also listed as questionable, which would explain why the Bucs decided to promote TE Collin Franklin from the practice squad to the roster. With both Winslow and Pianalto questionable, the Bucs may need that depth on Monday.

The Indianapolis Colts have not yet released their injury report, but have released participation data. I will try to update this story when they do release their injury report. Peyton Manning is clearly not playing and Kerry Collins missed another day of practice. Curtis Painter is definitely starting, and will likely be backed up by Dan Orlovsky

S Antoine Bethea also missed Saturday's practice after participating on Friday. Missing him would be a major blow to their offense. In addition G Ryan Diem, DT Fili Moala and LB Ernie Sims all missed all practices this week. None of those players played in the Colts' last game and it would be a surprise if any of them played on  Monday. G Joe Reitz missed the last two practices this week. He has started all three games this season. Finally, TE Brody Eldridge and DE Dwight Freeney were limited early in the week but participated fully in Saturday's practice.

Full injury reports:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Out:
T James Lee (knee), WR Sammie Stroughter (foot)
Doubtful: TE Zack Pianalto (calf)
Questionable: TE Kellen Winslow (knee), LB Quincy Black (ankle)
Probable: QB Josh Johnson (ankle)

Indianapolis Colts (Saturday Participation)
Out:
QB Peyton Manning (knee....wait, what?)
Did Not Participate: S Antoine Bethea (heel), QB Kerry Collins (head), G Ryan Diem (ankle), DT Fili Moala (ankle), G Joe Reitz, LB Ernie Sims
Participated but missed time earlier in the week:  TE Brody Eldridge, DE Dwight Freeney

I'm looking forward to Costanzo taking on Clayborn

Should be fun to watch the rooks go at it. I think Clayborn has the advantage. Costanza is a finesse left tackle who is also pretty tall. Should be easier for Clayborn to get leverage and bullrush him.

The Bucs need to start Watson and not Black!!!!

i know Dominik just re-signed Black but it’s starting to look like another boneheaded move ala Michael Clayton and Derrick Ward. Watson looks like a far better fit than Black in this Defense…

Still waiting for the day that the NFL comes back to LA...
