Jeremy Trueblood has looked better than he has in the past, but he still got beat by his direct opponents much too often. He is still a liability in pass protection, despite what this article would have you think.

I think you are being a litle rough on Trueblood.

We are ranked 5th in the NFL right now with Josh Freeman tied for only 3.9% sack/drop back ratio with Tom Brady. We have only allowed four sacks all year. I’m not sure how many of those were directly Trueblood’s fault, but I don’t think he is doing that bad of a job.

On the running side of the ball, our run offense is ranked 20th overall by football outsiders, but for runs ran off right tackle we are ranked 5th. We only go that way 9% of the time so it’s a small sample size for sure though.

We also lead the NFL by running the ball up the middle a whopping 70% of the time. Come on Olson, I know our backs lack speed but that is ridiculous.

Sacks are a bad measure of the quality of an offensive lineman

They measure a quarterback’s ability to get the ball and evade the rush more than anything else.

Trueblood got beat repeatedly by Robison, Avril and Abraham. He has played better than he did last year, that much is true, but he’s still a liability in pass protection. He cannot handle speed around the edge, and he doesn’t react well to quickness either.

Any charting you can point me towards?

I just don’t think he is getting beat that badly.

Can't seem to find individual info

but they have our o line ranked 25th in pass blocking efficiency. Mostly because of the 35 hurries they have allowed. http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/09/30/signature-stats-snapshot-pass-blocking-efficiency/

Great article on brian price

This young man is special. To keep a positive attitude about his injury and to deal with the pain, shows unbelievable character.
The bucs have definetly done their homework when drafting and/or picking up players on their defensive line. not only are they immensley talented but they seem to have great wirk ethic, want to and character.
I’m very excited about the potential of our line abd look forward to watching them gel together in the coming years.
Go Bucs!

Kinda off topic but

I am looking forward to watching this young defense grow. We have a young defensive line that is growing together. We have young linebackers (once Watson takes over for Black) and a relatively young secondary (I think we draft a strong safety to pair with T-Jack and let Sean Jones go)

There is a leader in each group (Clayborn, Foster, Talib) to lead by example and keep the fire burning.

Jones has been pretty consistent and the only Safety that has made all

19 starts at that position since the beginning of the season last year. Why would we get rid of him?

Still waiting for the day that the NFL comes back to LA...

I'd probably switch Clayborn with McCoy

and Talib with Barber..

We want the ball, and we're gonna score!

McCoy is a good leader, I agree. And I was meaning the future when Barber retires, Talib will be the leader.
