Josh Freeman out for preseason
It's news that traveled pretty fast during the Bucs/Chiefs preseason game. Josh Freeman, hurt early in the first quarter left the game, went to the locker room and came back out after halftime with a heavy wrap on his throwing hand. He hurt it on a 3rd down pass where, in the course of throwing, hit his hand on a player's helmet. It happens all the time and is a freak accident. First described as a sprain, the news got a bit worse, thought not season threatening. He has fractured the tip of his thumb on his throwing (right) hand and is out for the remainder of the preseason. He is expected to be ready for the Week 1 opener against Cleveland.
Some nervous moments when it happened. Now lets hope it mends quickly and correctly.

How long does it generally take for such an injury to heal?
Is it one of those injuries that could bug him going into the season?
Potentially.
Hard to say without knowing the extent. Could be a very optimistic or cautious timeline. No way of knowing.
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.
It sucks because now people will use this an excuse if Freeman struggles early on.
Lets hope he simply plays great and we don’t have to wonder if he was rushed back from injury.

They're saying 12 days and he'll be ready for Cleveland.

Not worried at all.
Side note: WE FINALLY HAVE A GOOD RECEIVER!
